Answer:
I can't tell you the diameter w/o looking at it. It does turn on & off. I can't use it on any of my Craftman tables. The magnet holding strength is increditably strong. I haven't tested the holding strength but I do know it does not move when I use it.

Answer:
Magnets are roughly rectangular, about 1 inch by 3/4 inch. Can't give you an actual measured strength, but on a cast iron table, with both magnets switched on, I cannot move the device no matter how hard I try.

They seem similar except for color and the Magswitch company lists holding power of magnets.

Not sure but it looks about the same. Has great holding power. I have not had the chance to use it but looks like it will be handy on my bandsaw table.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 52 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not the same as the original one I purchased. I purchased a Ridgid magnetic featherboard several years ago. It has excellent holding power and is extremely difficult to move by hand once locked down. Since the one I purchased is the only one Ridgid sells and looks similar, I made the assumption they were the same unit. I was wrong. The new one has a thinner spine and much weaker magnets. Not sure why, but this won't work in my shop. I can push the featherboard across the table with one hand fairly easily. It's getting returned. January 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't work on the Rigid table saw I purchased this Rigid featherboard for my new Rigid table saw, however, since it attaches magnetically it won't 'stick' on the Rigid saw (which is cast aluminum). It works great on Craftsman (or any cast iron or steel table top) but not on Rigid table saw. May 31, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sadly disappointed I was excited to purchase a Magswitch when I first encountered one when subbing for a shop class. I was disappointed when I purchased and tried one to discover that my table saw did not have a magnetic surface so it would not work. I wish they had warned me to test the saw before I ordered the featherboard. January 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Incredible I love this feather board. I have tried to displace it while using it, just to see if I could. But, I could not move it at all. Super easy to use, too, with just 2 switches for the magnets. I have tried using other feather boards (ones that clamp into the miter slot and other variations) but I have never used one that is as steady and applies as much pressure as this one. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't stay.... Magnets aren't quite strong enough to keep the tool where you want it. It may work ok for very light weight material but for what I'm doing it just won't do the job. November 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works as expected. They seem a little cheap compared to others I have but they seem to work fine. August 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great for table and bandsaw and drill press and router table great for assisting other jigs and using on all magnetic capable tables July 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rigid Mag Feather Board I'm very happy with this accessory. It allows me to focus more on the accuracy of my cut when I am ripping boards. The magnets are very strong. What a great device! June 30, 2015
