Customer Questions & Answers

can this be used with air saw blades?

Example, metal cutting and wood type blades that are common mount or is it proprietary to only this roofing cutter blade? Seems this would be a dual use if the blades will fit.
Asked by: Hunner
sure, its a air saw, no different than any other air saw.

Customer Reviews

Pneumatic Roofing Cutter is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from not good!! thought this would be good for trimming shingles on the edge of the roof after they are all laid. Not the case. does not have the power to do even 2 shingles at a time. I had the architectural kind and it had trouble getting through the double layer. It would be good for 3 tab and only one at a time. I'm going to return it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great tool Great tool, why didnt someone come up with this sooner. I always thought there should be an easier way to cut shingles. Nice straight smooth cuts, very professional. Best of all no more cut fingers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the Money When I started looking at this tool I thought the price was too high and had a lot of trouble justifying the purchase. Honestly, what pushed it over the top was that it's pretty cool (and let's face it, that goes a long way in tools). So glad I did. I'm running it on a 6 gallon pancake compressor at 90psi and cut each shingle as I install it as opposed to trying to cut the whole length of the roof at the end. Pay attention to the factory rep's statement below- it works just fine on the double layer portion as long as you let the tool do the work and not force it. It works well when you raise the angle of the tool and let it run along the drip edge for a perfect cut.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Roofing cutter I recently purchased this product because I was getting tired of cutting shingles in cold weather with a hooked blade in a utility knife. I had the same problem as the customer in the first review, until I realized that I need to let the tool work like the manufacturer states. It works best when you pull lightly on it. So far I love the tool, and I will be buying some more for the crew.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was twenty-seven degrees out this morning... ...when I went out to throw some shingles on the house and this thing (just bought it today) worked amazingly well! Anyone that does roofs knows it is a little bit more difficult in colder temperatures, cutting those architectural shingles and a game changer. It outperformed my expectations. I was a little bit hesitant, reading the reviews, because I use a portable (pancake) compressor and some of the reviews suggested a higher volume would be necessary but, it worked VERY well...just taking my time and allowing it to do the work. That being said, it took a little getting used to and it is VERY, be careful!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Goes through Rolled Roof like butter If you ever have to remove a layer of rolled roofing this is the tool. It literally cuts rolled roof as fast as you can walk backwards. The tool itself is not loud, very easy to handle, lightweight yet durable. I have yet to use it to trim shingles so cannot give a review but i give it 4.5 stars on the rolled roof part of the demolition i did this week. Whats great is you simply put the hook under the first layer, walk backwards and with a little care it will easily skim over another layer of rolled roof underneath without cutting into it. Great tool, we were so impressed went out and bought a second unit the same day.
