How do I remove the old filter? There is a plug or cap on top and I don't see how to remove it.

I need to change the filter. I have the new filter. There are no instructions on the box or inside regarding removing the old filter and attaching the new. It is really not self explanatory to me, perhaps because of the amount of dirt covering the old filter. However, I need help.

Yes I just bought this last week. It is a easy job. The thing is on a hub and doesn't turn or move. It only can work by pulling off the old filter and putting on the new one. At least that is the way for the VF3500 for the 4 Gallon Rigid Vacuum.

outside by the trash can remove power unit and shake over the trash can (to drop a good amount of dirt & dust) outside and then un screw the single bottom bolt / clamp. Nothing should be more than finger tight the filter should drop off into the can. slide the new clean one on to the power unit.

This filter has a small hole in the top that snaps over a post in my Husky shop vac. You should knock dust off your filter to see better. I believe you will see the post sticking through the top. Just pop old filter off and new one on. Don't be afraid to pull or push hard, thru rubbery top holds the filter on tight.

Answer:
No, and it is not recommended. I believe you would need to use the VF3700 for wet applications. The VF3500 can be washed, but must be dried thoroughly before being used again. That is why I have at least two on hand.

Answer:
No, the VF4000 is too tall. I am still trying to find a filter for my WD06250. The inside diameter of the old filter is just under 4 1/2 inches (same as the VF4000) but the height is about 8 1/2 inches. If anyone finds one please add it to this string.

Can I use the VF3500 to vacuum snow/slush brought into my garage by car during winter?

I bought the 4 gallon vacuum as that is all the room I have for storage. Since it was a "WET/dry" vac, I assumed it would work for water issues. I don't see a foam "water" filter available for my vacuum. Is it OK to use the VF3500 for the snow/slush purpose and/or do you make just a wet version for the 4 gallon vac? If not, would you consider it?

Answer:
Bluejay, I would not use this or any filter for snow, slush or any other liquid. This filter is used for fine dust, particles application. If you have a wet dry vac remove the filter when cleaning up snow, slush or any other liquid. Only use a filter for dry clean ups. I hope this helps.
