Answer:
Put hose inside the adapter, if hose is too big, you may need a hose adapter to fit the tool adapter to the hose.

Answer:
I just push the adapter into the saw port and then push the vacuum hose into the other end of the adapter. Since I use this setup at a lot of different locations, but only for a short time in most instances, this friction fit is usually adequate. You could probably add hose clamps if you needed a more permanent connection, but so far I didn't find this necessary.

Answer:
The parts that fit together will go on easy and tighten up as you push together. I guess you would call it a friction fit.

Answer:
The power tool adaptor will fit a 2 ½” hose of wet/dry vacuum. The smaller opening of the tool can be connected to Power tools and other dust collection tools.

So it's 2-1/2" on the large end. What sizes are the steps on the other size? Listing both inner and outer diameters would be ideal.

Answer:
Narrowest end is I think 3/4" widest is 1 and 7/8ths I think? But it should fit most tool's sawdust/exhaust ports, if not, use a good quality duct tape to ensure a tight seal.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does not fit any of my hoses? I was hoping that for the price this would be able to connect my table saw to the rigid vacuum purchased on the shelf below. This item fits neither. The price is also disappointing. Not worth your trouble. March 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy Junk it won't fit any of the three vacuums or hoses that I have. It's going back! October 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bought for OTHER purpose!!!! I bought this adapter for another use other than it's intended purpose. I had a problem with my A/C unit's condensate drain. I saw a video on YouTube from an HVAC expert that recommended using a wet/dry vac to suck the condensate drain pipe clear of clogs. I got the Rigid 6-gallon W/D vac and this attachment to attach to the 1" diameter PVC drain pipe. I made sure with a piece of 1" PVC pipe that it would fit, and to which "necked down" part on the adapter. The 1" pipe fitted snugly into the second from the bottom, so I cut the narrowest end off, and tested the fit. They married perfectly, with the adapter on the A/C drain pipe, I attached the vacuum hose, and turned it on. I took only a few "on/offs" to clear the drain pipe! Now if it clogs again I have the perfect cleaning tool, and! I don't have to pay an HVAC service man $300 to do it for me!!!! July 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just right I was looking for an adapter for using smaller hoses on my shop vacuum, and looking around at home depot I found this adapter that I purchased and took home. It works great. September 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best tool for clogged Aircon drain pipe The primary condensate drain pipe of my house AC got clogged. water started coming out from secondary drain pipe. Bought this tool and Ridgid WD4070 from HD to vacuum the clog. The tip is one inch diameter and fits perfectly the drain pipe. I saved money not calling my AC repairman. July 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Versatile Adaptor Great for those dust collection situations where a dedicated adaptor isn't practical. June 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Adaptor This adaptor works just fine for reducing hose/attachment sizes. I bought mine to attach to my 7" angle grinders that I use to take down high concrete areas on concrete floors. I have mine taped (duct tape) and zip-tied to my grinders and they do not come off. I like the fact that you can reduce to different sizes, and not just one size. It works fine if you attach it like I did. Hope this helps. January 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simple connection device solved my problem I needed a way to connect my jig saw to the dust collector because I do a lot of inside work. This relatively inexpensive connector did the trick. It is flexible so that it can connect to the jig saw yet not damage the connection when I need to move the saw or change its cutting direction. It is easy to connect and can work with different dust collection systems In short, this is a very handy, flexible inexpensive adapter. December 10, 2014
