Customer Questions & Answers

Do you have a pin jack connector for input other than an I-Pod (like a walkman)? Do you have a 12 volt output to allow you to charge your cell phone?

Asked by: Stephan
The radio does have an included "Audio Patch Cable" that connects common (3.5 mm stereo (TRS)) stereo inputs. The input port is inside the iPod tray on the front of the radio so your music device will need to fit inside the ipod/iphone sized compartment or you will not be able to close the door. If you can't close the door, everything will still work though you will have no dust/damage protection for your add-on device. For non-iPod devices you will be able to use the remote to control power and volume but pause and track control won't work. The radio does not have any power outputs of any kind.

X4 120-Volt Reconditioned Jobsite Radio with ShockMount Technology is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I purchased this radio in the previous version (X3) ZRR84083 $99 and I was comparing it to a Bose... I purchased this radio in the previous version (X3) ZRR84083 $99 and I was comparing it to a Bose Wave Radio at $179. Honestly, for what I wanted to use it for the Ridgid is absolutely superior for my workshop, Bose doesn't have much if anything over the Ridgid Radio sound quality & functionality. Volumn is clear, strong and wonderful to listen to. It is AC corded or you can use the Ridgid batteries from the cordless power tools. It can charge the phone playing the Mp3 while it's playing and every station in my area gets tuned in very well. I'm in the Mojave Desert, Southern CA. Go to Home Depot and listen to the smaller version as this version (X4) RZZ84082 IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE in any stores. It must have been selling to well to continue to sell it in store. I really hate to even rate this Radio so high because as soon as it's discovered by Ridgid, Bean Counters, or marketers that the quality is so high it will be discontinued, as it is, it has been restricted to online sales. Ready to discontinue. Unfortunately that is the way everything works these days in the USA, if quality is higher & it's selling, it gets discontinued.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good buy!! Great jobsite Radio. The remote is handy and the iPod dock is great! The sound quality is excellent although it could be a little louder. It dosen't charge the battery, but thats really not that big a deal to me. Over all a really good value. Thanks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Musically functional, but with two broken parts. For the most part, everything functions as described. My interest was in using this as a iPod player with an iPod Classic. I purchased this as a refurbished product because even new, this product does not come with the Rigid lifetime service agreement. This gave me the opportunity to see what Rigid does with reconditioned products. Out of the box the catch that keeps the iPod tray held in the back of the compartment designed for it was broken (when you open the door, the inner tray falls open too). This does not impact the music functionality of the device. Also, one of the tabs that holds on the battery door for the remote was broken off. The door will close but if I lose another tab it won't be able to close on its own. On the up side, the case/frame appears durable and dust resistant. The FM tuner with the antenna up seems to pull in stations almost as well as my car radio and the sound quality and volume are worth the money and satisfactory for my garage workshop. I have not yet decided if I want to return it due to the two broken components. As mentioned the iPod tray clip is not vital and can't get any worse but if the battery door fails I'm stuck with kludging the remote.
