I'm hard on my drills. Drilling through block ,brick, concrete, metal. I'm the guy that pushes hard to get the job done. the only thing i get from the drill is that it wants more. It's great to have a tool that puts out as much a I give it. I've dropped it, kicked it, and put in battery after battery, working it as hard as i can. It doesn't overheat, it doesn't stop, doesn't drop the bits. It just keeps putting out. It sits great in my hand and is well balanced. It's not too heavy and it's got alot of torque. I enjoy the hammer option, drill option and screw option. All in all, this is a great drill.

This battery is super awsome and will last longer on a charge than any other battery I have ever used. I have had Dewalt, and Craftsman and got rid of every single one of them. They just did not measure up to the performance of my beloved ridged tools and batteries. Super fast charges and the charge will last all day. I screwed every board on a 40'L x 15'w deck with railing with just the full charge of one battery. Will NEVER buy or use any other cordless or corded tool other than a RIDGID!!!! They are #1 in my book.

UIed drill with ice auger adapter. Chuck on drill seized up. Had to send batteries, charger, drill driver and complete outfit in. My cordless skilsaw is useless without batteries. Bought drill and had it for a month. Still waiting 2 weeks and no word when I get drill and ice auger adapter back. Lifetime warranty should take care of this. Glad I am not a contractor that has to rely on my tools.

I've owned the best milwaukee M18 can not touch this or even come close son! This tool is a Monster, a Power House a tool that i can depend on and will knock out work that some Air tools, and tools with cords can't even do!
And not to mention you can fill out the lifetime warranty on the tools and your covered for life!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DirtyDeeds Good tool but not perfect.
I really like Ridgid tools and own quite a few including this tool which I acquired in an X4 kit.
For the most part this is a great tool. The grip is very comfortable, the second trigger for the LED light is a must have now that I'm use to it.
Surprisingly the size of this tool is not much bigger then the compact Ridgid drill/driver I own. It weighs a bit more but the size is awesome.
The handle is easy to put on at different angles and feels pretty secure once in place.
This tool has alot of power and can get away from you if your not careful.
Having the choice between hammer/drill/driver is awesome, it makes this a very versatile tool.
The only area of concern I have for this tool is the chuck. While it is a quality Jacobs chuck I have found mine is running out on the outer black plastic sleeve. The bit runs true but the black part wobbles a bit. It's not a big deal but it looks awful imo. I've done some research and have come to realize this is an issue quite a few people are having.
The hammer action I find is a bit light but comparable to other cordless hammer drills. It drills holes in brick and stone with ease.
Overall the drill is great, it's powerful and comfortable. I recommend it and give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I like how versatile this product is. I used the drill feature to make a 8-1/4" dia. hole in a 1/4" thick corrugated aluminum panel to mount a ventilation fan. I used the hammer drill feature to make holes in a concrete slab to install drive-way markers so I can easily find my drive-way when I return home after a heavy snow-fall or dense fog. I really like the feature where you can turn the drill light on before the drill starts to turn. Great Product.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by plumbob bring back the old ridgid hammer drill!!!!
I use to be a big fan of the ridgid tools. I originally started to use the ridgid line of tools about eight years ago out in the plumbing field and had no troubles. This past year my old hammer drill finally died. The motor burnt out and figured I would just buy the x4 hammer drill and impact driver set.... the circular saw and sawzall still worked good for me. So there was no need to buy the whole 5 piece set. In a four month period of time I burnt up two brand new x4 hammer drills. I decided to take one apart to see what happened to it... the inside design had been changed on the motor and bearings. The rear bearing sits in the plastic housing and melts the plastic when it gets to hot... never had that problem with the old set!!! I just bought the makita set and blows the ridgid set away!!!!!
