Customer Questions & Answers

Does this kit come with 2 batteries?

Asked by: johndoe
Mine included two batteries, a charger, and a cloth carrying case. The description for this kit shows that it comes with two batteries also. The last time I saw one in a store, it also came with two batteries, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is sold with a single battery for special sales. It would then have a different item number, I'm sure. If a tool name is followed by (console), it means it's the bare tool only; no batteries or case are included.

Customer Reviews

X4 18-Volt 1/2 in. Hyper Lithium-Ion Cordless Hammer Drill/Driver Kit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warranty Registration unfriendly Thanks for the warning from another customer's review about Ridgid rejecting the warranty registration because the same thing just happened to me. I sent the warranty information the same day that I purchased this hammer drill and double checked all the data input before sending it to Rigid. One week later I get the same email that they could not verify the purchase and now I have to send the original UPC, the original sales receipt via certified mail per their suggestion. So what happens if they lose the originals? Makes me wonder why they are being so difficult since they must have the corresponding serial numbers in their data base. Another user said it took them 5 months to verify the warranty. I am going to report this to Home depot’s corporate offices tomorrow since either their sales receipts are the problem or Ridgid warranty registration is not doing their job. I will be calling Ridgid also. I found several other references to problems registering Ridgid products so this is not a one-time issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome drill This drill has great battery life and is rugged. Dropped it about 4 times building a play house for my kids and didn't even faze it, batter lasted over 12 hours of continuous use love this drill, batter will fully charge in about 30 min from completely dead, nice to have the charge gauge on the battery too

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This is my 2nd Rigid Drill. The 1st one was purchased prior to the start of the lifetime warranty. both my old batteries are dead now and it was cheaper to buy the set than to buy 2 batteries. Old drill had NiCad, new one is Li-On, but either battery will work on old drill. Yeah. Now I have 2 fully functional drills with the lifetime warranty on the batteries and the life expectancy of Li-On

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Performance, and Durability I needed a powerful, reliable drill to use for various project related to our new home construction. This drill did the job, and more. Between drilling, screwing, hammering, etc. the drill worked great. I used to buy the cheap drills, but this drill has me converted to Ridgid, and impressed! The battery on these are great as well, lasting for hours of routine use and weeks/months of standby. Look for Home Depot deals for combo packs or extra batteries for free from time to time. I got an extended life battery with mine for free when I purchased as part of a limited time promo. Also, I recently left the drill on my truck tailgate in my garage, and accidentally backed over it, dragging it for about 10 feet down my driveway. I thought for sure it was no longer going to work. I plugged in the battery which had been disengaged, and to my surprise, working just as good as before. Check out the photo in the review. A bit of plastic/rubber damage, which was to be expected, but otherwise survived pretty well, with a sturdy build.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Real nice I would not have believed. But after I was talked into buying it, I won't go back. It works hard and is heavily built. More compact than my old Royobi and more torque.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent drill! My wife bought me this when we bought our first home. My first nice power tool of my own; this tool sold me on Ridgid and I have since completed my collection. In the three years I have owned this drill I have used it countless times and it's power and battery life still impress me. I even used it in a pinch to mix joint compound and that is after it spent three days sinking countless drywall screws. It is a bit heavy but that is true of all drills in this class. From concrete anchors to lag screws this thing has helped me get it all done.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Warranty Registration Problems Overall, the drill is fine. However, I registered for the warranty online, and received a response about a week later rejecting my registration. Ridgid now wants me to send in a Proof of Purchase from the actual box, which is long gone in the trash. So basically, I can no longer register this product for warranty.
