Customer Questions & Answers

Does the saw come with a blade or do i need to order one seperate?

Asked by: Anonymous
It comes with a general purpose blade. I would purchase a spare and any task specific blades you need (read "better quality"). The blade is adequate but nothing special.

How mch does this saw weigh, including th battery and blade, and does it come with a battery?

Asked by: GirlCarpenter
The saw I purchased did not come with a battery. However it is compatible with Ridge batteries is you have other ridge battery tools. You will need to check if the battery is compatible. Don't forget to register your product and you will have a lifetime warrenty on batteries and tools from ridge.

What size is blade?

Asked by: Anonymous
Takes a 6-1/2" blade. The same as many other cordless circular saws, so not difficult to find.

X4 18-Volt Cordless Circular Saw Console (Tool Only) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 135.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Saw I'm a contractor, and I love this saw. Plenty of power and run time. I haven't had any issue cutting through 1X, 2x , or sheet goods. I use 4 and 5 amp batteries, plenty of cuts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed Bought this saw after having good luck with Ridgid cordless drills and impact driver. The Battery doesn't last more than a dozen cuts of 1x4 pine and even fewer with 2x4's. Don't even bother trying to cut 1/2" sheeting. I thought it might be the battery, but I charged it and put it in my impact driver and drove 3/8 lag bolts and pole barn screws for more than half the day before switching batteries. I'll be bringing the saw back, really expected more out of Ridgid. My Dad had his Ryobi cordless saw on the same job and it ran circles around my Ridgid, which I found odd because Ryobi and Ridgid are sister companies, maybe the should share so technology.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice features, good saw I bought this to upgrade my older Ridgid cordless which is honestly still going strong. The first difference I noticed is the blade placement, my old saw had the left hand blade, this version is the more traditional right hand blade. I personally had no issue with either version. The bevel adjustment has some nice presets and click into standard angles with a nice solid lever to lock it down. I found the on-off switch to be a bit more of a hassle, but just takes some getting used to. I have not used this with the new x4 batteries, I run all of my tools with the larger X3 84008 batteries and have plenty of power and run time for all of my tools. Overall this is a nice saw, but if your older model is still going strong, wait until it needs to be replaced before upgrading.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool. Just make sure to get the 5 amp battery. I started buying Ridged tools about 3 months ago. So far it been standing up to everything I put it thru. The warranty is a pain in the (you know what). But if it works like they advertise then it will be worth it. As for the saw goes it great. Light weight. and cuts great, That is until the battery dies after about 5 or 6 cuts. The standard battery is not up to do the job. This tool should have been sold With the 5 amp battery. Selling it without the battery makes you think that it will run great with the batteries you have. (4 total received when buying other kits) I would have been more then happy to pay 200 for the complete kit at one time then having to go back and get the 5 amp battery later or having to run all my batteries down faster then they can get charged.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent saw! This saw is everything a tool like this should be. It is powerful yet compact and lightweight (in the best sense of the word). It is incredibly easy to control. I have a corded circular saw that is bigger and more powerful but this is the tool I grab nine times in ten. A tool you use because it is convenient is a useful tool. I wish it came with the rip fence but I guess we can't have everything.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy, Get a makita or dewalt I purchased this saw about 6-8 months ago and I'm very disappointed. I think I have some hand saws that might do better. It's all nice for small jobs like 1/4" panel or maybe trim. It took for ever to rip through 3ft. of 2x6. It heats up quick and drains battter quick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Saw The saw cuts very well and is not very loud at all. I had to get used to the clutch stopping it so quick. I thought it bound up. You can tell I have older circular saws without the quick stop. I really like the feel in my hands. It does not feel heavy even when the battery is in. It is very helpful in marking for a straight edge guide for cutting in that the distance between the saw guide and saw blade is exactly one inch. It seemed to run the battery down quicker than I thought it would but I did not have a full charge so I will have to watch that. Overall I think it is a great buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's just ok Really want this to be a great option for my Ridgid cordless but it comes up short. Works great on plywood, siding, and small boards, but anything past 1" it boggs down and overheats the battery making it shut down. It will cut about 1 2"x4" before overheating. Will not cut a whole 2"x6" before shutting off. Have to use the sawzall to finish most jobs.
