Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jenk Worst Rigid I have ever purchased
This is the worst thing I have ever purchased with a rigid name on it. Rigid should be ashamed to put their name on it. I am upset that Home Depot will even sell it. I can not put any pressure on the grinder without the red light flashing and the grinder turning off. I tried cutting 3/8" all thread with a cut off wheel and it took 4 times as long as it would with a plug in grinder because I could not put ANY pressure on the blade without turning off. Grinding metal with the included disc is not any better, I have several other Rigid cordless tools and am really satisfied with them, but this cordless grinder is a big piece of JUNK.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by TP A rare Ridgid disappointment
I bought this tool this week to use on a job site where 110v power would have been unavailable. Needed to cut off 3/8" bolts flush with concrete...not a big deal. And yes, even though the tool came with the grinding wheel, I bought several thin cut-off wheels for this work. From the very first cut, with a full charge on my Li 4ah, 18v battery, this tool immediately flashed its overheat warning lights. Even when I backed off and applied less pressure, the tool was not up top the task. It would shut down and need a brief coming off period before I could resume. And this was a fresh out of the box tool! Very time-consuming and frustrating. My son had his much older Ryobi cordless grinder with a new Li battery and it worked like a champ. I'm not a big Ryobi fan and I won't abandon my Ridgid cordless set, but Ridgid really needs to go back to the drawing board on this one. I paid $99 for it and with its severe limitations it's not worth a fraction of that price. I'm taking it back. I hope they can improve this model soon!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by RSWRanch Not impressed.....at all
I have almost all of the ridgid cordless tools, well a bunch of them anyway, not to mention several corded rigid tools. I have always been more than impressed with all of there tools to say the least. That was until I bought this 18V grinder. Even with the 4.0 big battery in it, it lacks any kind of power for cutting, even w a thin disk, or grinding. I worked for Black and Decker / Dewalt for years. This is worse than anything that they ever put out by far. I hate to leave negative feedback about anything, especially RIDGID tools, but this grinder is terrible. Sorry guys, you missed the boat on this one.

This is the first rigid tool that I'm not happy with. It kills the battery in minutes and shuts down if you use any pressure. Buy a corded grinder

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Canman Great for cutting soft butter
Was excited to try my new Rigid cordless grinder since someone walked off with my Dewalt grinder.
Had some other Rigid tools that worked well so I figured this would be too.
Wrong!!! This was a toy compared to my old 18v Dewalt.
Does it cut? Maybe some soft butter but certainly not steel. I used it to cut 3/8 bolts that secure handles on shipping containers we sell and the dreaded overload lights flash as soon as the disc touches the bolt.
Soon after the thing craps out. I returned it to Home Depot and got a Dewalt. Problem Solved.
Do not buy this tool!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by NoelWPB I like the tool... hate the trigger.
I have owned this tool for a little over a month. It was bought for the purpose of cutting 1/8 inch metal plates, chain link fence, grout, tile and all kind of other things. It does shut down if you use too much force but if you pace yourself it cuts fine. The thumb trigger can be difficult to use after an exhausting day. It does eat batteries so plan on getting a pack of 4.0 amp batteries. Overall I'm satisfied and it has definitely become my go to tool.
