This is just what I needed. Since it is refurbished by HD I feel confident I will get years of service out of this. We will be traveling more with our trailer and I needed something to help me deal with lug nuts if we get a flat with no AAA service around. The fact that I got the tool, battery and charger is what influenced me to buy this. As a bonus, I unexpectedly got a carrying bag as well. I have the Ridgid combo drill and impact driver but that is for home use. I don't have to remember to pack and unpack this. Thank you HD for opportunity to purchase this.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LiquidIQ Great price, included everything
Got on sale for $50. Came with fully charged battery and charger. That was nice since I didn't have the Ridgid line, but Ryobi. The battery is the "slim" one so doesn't last as long, but is light. Tool looked used but not beat up. Had a new phillips bit and a belt hook. One nice feature is the led light on the base that lights the work area. It comes on and stays on for about 10 seconds when you use the tool, and there is also a switch on the handle under the pinky area (which I keep hitting when I hold the tool). Could do without that extra switch.
Overall a great tool, and for the price it can't be beat.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Johnf314 Who needs an impact driver?
I've always driven screws with a cordless drill. Slow speed, push down firmly, it'll probably go. Yeah, sometimes the head strips or the screw breaks, or sometimes it just won't go all the way in. These things don't happen now that I'm using a Ridgid X4 impact driver. I've even driven lag bolts with it.
I am very happy with this purchase.

I have used this impact driver commercially for 3 years and it performs as well as it did new. It is durable with a great power and battery life. I am a foreman running crews on commercial buildings and hotels 6 days a week.
My Ridgid impact driver withstands all the abuse of a construction site and delivers reliable performance daily. I have dropped the driver many times from a ladder or out of a tool belt and it always works, amazing!
My last one was stolen and I replaced it with the reconditioned unit because I couldn't beat the price.
The reconditioned units are usually better than factory new because the entire tool is reconditioned and inspected by hand individually.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ETBRoc Like new, but without the lifetime warranty
The first impact driver I've ever owned. Looked and worked like new for me. The light on the handle is pretty bright compared to my regular drill that has a built-in light.
Great deal if you can get this on sale, but reconditioned warranty is only 1 year even if included charger and battery are new. If you plan to use this frequently and for many years to come it may be worth while to buy the new version of this product for the full lifetime warranty (with registration). The short warranty is the biggest con I can find with this product, and that only applies because it is reconditioned.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SPVigor Gets the job done!
I bought this for automotive repairs and was a little skeptical how well it would break fasteners loose. Had it a couple weeks and so far it is totally living up to it's billing - it does not disapoint.
It's reconditioned, so the unit shows some wear and tear - but not excessive. Lithium ion battery charged right up and holding the original charge. Soft case is brand new and the battery light is very useful.
Very satisfied customer to recommend this tool

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DIYGuy Not What I Expected
I know Rigid products are rated well and DIY'ers love them, however I would stay away from buying a reconditioned tool from HD after this experience. While the drill was in working condition, I returned it for a refund. HD was very accommodating when I returned the drill, so thank you. The drill showed up dirty on delivery. This was not something I expected. The appearance of the drill and battery gave me the feeling this tool was heavily used.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by electroman Mechanically great, some minor annoyances
The reconditioned product had only some cosmetic flaws. i.e. the silver paint was worn off in some areas, making it a bit unattractive. This is no way impaired the function however.
Here are my annoyances:
I found the LED light operation to be annoying, coming on when I did not need it. I also found that the tool would work even if the battery was only partially snapped in place, and it did take some extra care to be sure the battery was fully engaged. The charger operation was somewhat confusing - from the LEDs it is hard to tell if the battery was fully charged or just "charged enough". Worst, the charger does not support NiMH batteries, only Lion and NiCd.
Plenty of power, good speed control, positive forward / reverse switching, light weight.
