I first thought I would have to cut my sprinkler manifold and change the whole valve, but after disassembling the valve, found the diaphragm to have a hole in it causing it to leak by. Was a simple fix and worked great. Bought some extras for the other 5 valves. The valves are approx 20 years old now.

Bought a batch of these replacements for old system online as local store did not stock them. Solved problem on first valve as expected. But on a different valve of the same manifold a new diaphragm didn't help so opted to replace the related solenoid with a new one. This action however still didn't allow water to flow under electrical control. Spent a lot of extra troubleshooting time resolving this particular valve problem and wasn't able to remedy until I removed the new diaphragm and installed the original used one! Valve needed and benefited from the new solenoid but not the new diaphragm. Can't believe the new diaphragm which didn't help at all in this case will not work as a solution for a future valve showing the same symptom. Labeled the removed part and will hang onto it. Hope these parts remain available as they're essential and, except for this apparent anomaly, reliable.

The replacement diaphragm solved my problem- the sprinkler would not automatically turn-on. I had to unscrew the bleed screw a little to manually turn-on the valve. This defeated the purpose of having an automatic sprinkler system.

Actual diaphragm looks different than picture and it was a concern due to amount of time and effort it takes to repair stuck valve but it worked. Original diaphragm have ridges as shown in picture but diaphragm that I received in package does not. Cost to order from other online retailers was double after adding shipping, it was a good saving and convenient.

You should also be able to purchase the rubber diaphragms separately as the unit can be disassembled!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rick Fix the sprinkler valve without removal!
With this diaphragm kit, it is possible to fix the sprinkler valve without removing the unit. To do so, just complete these 8 simple steps:
1. turn of the water supply
2. remove the solenoid assembly being careful to not lose the internals
3. remove the valve top screws and lift the head unit
4. remove the old diaphragm and note the orientation
5. place the new diaphragm in the same orientation
6. carefully place the head unit on the diaphragm and reinstall the screws
7. reinstall the solenoid assembly
8. turn on water supply

When you have a control valve go out in the end of August in Texas, you'd better get it fixed in a hurry. Not only did it get here on-time it arrived a week early. Thanks HD for the promp response.

This saved the day. It was going to be a pain to change out the sprinkler body. Read other reviews and I agree, very good product and easy change. In about 10 minutes, I was up and running again.
