I use a step ladder - set it up "up wind" and rest sprayer on ladder top and stand on 2nd or 3rd step from ladder top, and set extended wand of sprayer on solid stream. I can aim directly at leaves or shoot upward in an arch and spray will "rain down" further than 15 feet from ladder. Works for me.

I like the unit, but it has limitations ... and distance is one of them. I wouldn't rely upon being able to spray more than 6-7' beyond the tip of the wand which extends to about 4-5'. It's great for spot spraying for weeds or insects or broad spraying within the noted distance, like spraying the perimeter of a home or shrubbery or trees up to maybe 10-12' tall if you can get close. Trying to spray trees that are 15' away from where you're standing is asking too much for this device. I've been impressed with battery life and am generally happy with the sprayer. Read Less

15' will be a stretch for this unit, especially if you are spraying up into a tree. I would suggest a backpack sprayer with a straight stream nozzle.

Answer:
Absolutely not. I own one and it is just like those pump sprayers you see except you just don't have to pump. The spray comes out in a small circle of very fine mist you can barely even see. There isn't enough power behind the spray to even move the leaves on the weeds you are killing, let alone try to wash a deck!

This is a battery powered sprayer. It's good for weed or bug killer because it sprays in a very fine mist. There isn't enough power behind the spray for it to wash anything.

Answer:
The sprayer uses 4 size D batteries - they fit in a tray - and you can use any size D batteries you have - rechargeable (if you have a charger for them) or other. The sprayer comes with standard batteries (not alkaline) and it works great. Alkaline batteries will last longer. No need to look for any other sprayer.

The unit takes 4 standard D batteries. While it will certainly work with rechargeables, I believe it will consistently work better with good quality alkalines. I've been pretty impressed with the battery life.

You'd have to buy the rechargeable batteries and charger separately, and you'd probably want at least eight batteries so you'd have at least one extra set to use while recharging a discharged set. Unless you already have lots of rechargeable D cells and a charger (and who would? I'm a little surprised D cell batteries are even still available), all of that would almost surely cost you more than this sprayer did.
You may be better off trying regular alkalines for a while just to see if you think rechargeable batteries are worth the extra expense. Read Less

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Inferior Product I purchased this product from Home Depot (online). Initially the sprayer worked okay for about 5-6 times. The next time the sprayer did not work. I did a voltage check and found that the 4-batteries provided over 6-volts--this is excellent. I then did a voltage check at the switch--again the voltage at the switch was over 6-volts but the motor still did not run. I contacted Flowmaster in Michigan. I was advised that there are no repair parts for this sprayer. Since the sprayer was less than one year old I was hoping Flowmaster would support me--they did not. I will not recommend this sprayer. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by FloMaster 1.3 Battery Powered Sprayer Used product at the beginning of the season. repeat spray time 3 months later..it wont work...home depot will not refund or replace as past the 90 day return policy..FloMaster, after gosh awful time contating them via email sent a absolutely useless replacement.. Folks this is from someone who used their product for 20 years..DONT BUY It you are wasting your money! July 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pump stopped working after 3rd use I loved this sprayer, but unfortunately the pump quit working. July 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not well made The sprayer worked fine the first time I used It. The 2nd time the motor wouldn't start. I replaced the batteries but still nothing..Not a happy customer. I have had it 10 weeks. July 11, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Save Your Money I bought this last year and used it once and I mean once. I washed out the sprayer with clean water and removed the batteries and put it away for the winter. Today (6/18/16) I took it out and put new batteries in it. It wouldn't pump. After much frustration, I took the cover off and found out one of the wires from the switch to the battery pack was broken off. I tried to solder it back on but the wire was so cheap and so short two more wires broke off and I was being very careful. There was not even an extra 1/4" of wire to play with. I understand that if they are making a million or more units they have to save money on materials but this was ridiculous. Too short wires and poor workmanship are the problem with this product. It did work well the one and only time I used it. June 18, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by After pumping 3 gallons, wouldn't start and pump frozen The wiring on this pump is not sufficient, needs to be stronger. The pump froze up after 3 uses and the wiring broke loose from the switches due to poor soldering and not wrapping connections. After getting the pump to go freely again and the switch to work -put it back together and and pushed switch. The motor started but pump wouldn't work . So - you need to make a better ONE GALLON BATTERY OPERATED SPRAYER for the ladies - Willing to spend a little more for a reliable product but can't carry a larger pump! By the way I was pumping a liquid weed killer with it. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So easy !! This sprayer has greatly decreased the amount of time needed to spray for weeds in my yard!! I wish the on and off button was easier to manipulate. The strap makes it easy to carry and the wand delivers a good stream or mist of spray. I highly recommend as it definitely worth the money! April 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beats the heck out of pumping! This is my third sprayer . i love the no pump idea & the great price. I wish the spray was stronger buy adding a stronger electric pump- like the new brush less motors that use less battery power and are much stronger. This is my third one because they only last about two seasons before they stop working. I have taken them apart to try and get going again but the pump just wears out. I have had it not wanting to run many times and i have to take out the battery tray and get to the two connectors and i jump it with my ryrobi lithium battery to get it to run again they seem to get stuck after sitting when they get older. Over all is very useful for small touch up spraying. March 1, 2016
