Answer:
It really depends on the pest control solutions that are being used. Some citrus based chemicals can be very harsh. Also, the nozzle patterns are different for this sprayer. This sprayer was designed for deck cleaners, and stains.

Rated 1.6 out of 5 by 30 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Buy! My wife tried assembling this and then asked me to do it because she couldn't. I tried hunting for the "pink" parts first. After some time, I realized that the "pink" parts were really all gray or clear in the box we got. I then tried assembling the parts in step 1. I tried many times and eventually gave up. I did not get past step 1. It was only then that I came to check for any assembly help and saw these reviews. It is not my wife or me. This product CANNOT be assembled with me cutting parts and rebuilding other parts. It is going back to HD later today. What a waste of time and money! BTW, I am a mechanical engineer, so I feel for anyone else trying to assemble this. HD should stop selling these! June 22, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Did the Job. Put the sprayer together exactly as the instructions said. There was an air leak somewhere. The sprayer did not hold air very long. The sprayer tip did spray semi-transparent stain but it sprayed it everywhere. I used it on very low spray. Coated a board the same way you would put ketchup on a hotdog, and then spread it out with a deck brush. By the time I was done with the deck the nozzle tip was clogged up. This is a one time use product. June 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk I came on line to figure out what I had done causing mine to leak so badly. Turns out it's not my fault. July 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk It's going back to Home Depot. I couldn't even attach the hose to the sprayer. That's when I went online. Wish I had read reviews first. May 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not even worth the ten bucks! This thing is going back to the store asap. The guy at HD said this would be good for applying clear waterproofing to our deck. First, the directions weren't clear to assemble; I had to watch a youtube video to figure it out. Then it says to try it with water first so we did and it worked fine. We poured in the waterproofing liquid and sprayed and all we got was splotchy goop out of it. We tried adjusting the nozzle and it still didn't work. So, if you're spraying anything thicker than water, it won't work. October 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Total Junk Such Total Junk that value should be rated in the negative numbers, maybe a negative 10 on a scale of +1 to +10. NEVER got a fan spray out of it. Had to run to the store and buy a roller to spread the drizzle. As my first time staining a deck, I thought maybe that's how it should work. Started out as a 1 inch wide spray, leaked and dripped. Ended up as a stream. Probably ruined the deck stain application and will require me to RESAND and re-stain. What's that, 3 more days of work, an extra sander rental, more sandpaper at 6 bucks a sheet, and an extra 5 gallons of stain? Using this product cost much more then the shelf price. Home Depot should pull this product off the shelves. I wouldn't even use it to spray (or stream) weed killer. And I should have checked the other reviews before using this. July 2, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not good for spraying stain on decks I bought this sprayer along with some deck stain as it was located in the deck stain section. However, there is no way anyone could ever use this to spray stain on a deck or fence. The sprayer spurts out droplets of stain from two holes located on each side. It goes everywhere and lands in droplets. I brushed out the droplets and ended up just rolling the stain on my deck. I'm taking this back to Home Depot and even if I don't get a refund, I would like them to know they should NOT put this on the shelf next to the stain. It does not work at all for this purpose, and I'm not sure of any purpose for which it would work. August 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very handy. I bought several for different jobs. Labeled them and all I have to do is grab it and go do the job. July 23, 2015
