Answer:
If you set it to a fine mist, I would think so. Also assuming the plant care products are not too think - e.g. needs to be water-like.

I do the same as my larger 1 & 2 gal pump sprayers. To release the pressure, I slowly twist open the top/lid.

Answer:
I personally would never use a sprayer to spray upwards. I would use a ladder and spray down, along with wearing a respirator, disposable clothing, eye protection. Look to spray only on a calm windless day. Certain garden chemicals can cause cancer if inhaled or allowed contact with skin.

I should work in it, but if it gets on the steel (probably zinc coated) shaft it will strip the zinc off and will rust.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 134 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor quality Reservoirs prone to leak along the seam. Keep reciept from your purchase. I buy alot and am always having problems with the reservoir leaking, some from only a few pumps. August 8, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't buy these sprayers I bought 3 of these for different household chemicals. I returned them all. The triggers don't work. The unit will continue to spray for several minutes after you release the trigger. I ended up killing other plants with roundup. I bought a different from Lowes that work great. August 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A small hand sprayer easy to use. very easy to use does just what I want it to do! I do ot know what else to say! August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Broccoli Great for foliage spraying. Especially if you have several plants. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for wallpaper removal project Used this bottle for a larger wallpaper removal project (strippable wallpaper). Filled the bottle with hot water and pumped up - sprays a fine spray for wetting wallpaper backing and covers a large area before having to re-pump. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gwtn Wet Easy to operate; just pump n spray. I would recommend. August 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beats any finger pump sprayer Not very expensive and very handy to have instead of the finger sprayers. HOWEVER, I had to return the first one because it would not hold the pressure. The second one holds pressure and does the job. This purchased replaced the sprayer that the handle broke off while unscrewing the top for a refill. July 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Sprayer for small jobs This is a good little sprayer for the times you don't need to mix a full gallon. This is my second one. I use one for herbicides and the other for insecticides. July 19, 2016
