Answer:
It depends on the intensity of the weeds. A five to ten dilution will easily control most weeds.

Answer:
Directions mention to avoid spraying over roots of plants you want to keep. This stuff is potent. It certainly takes care of weeds and growth on the top layer. Depending on the depth of your roots, soil type and amount of water (rain) you receive, it might not impact a large tree. Then again, it might take a year for it to seep to the roots. I would recommend avoiding the root area.

I am looking to get rid of a number of tree of Heaven plants and wanted to know if anyone was able to do that using this product. Since plants are established, I need to first kill them and the root before removing.

Answer:
Hi Bill,
The glyphosate will kill Ailanthus altissima when diluted and applied to the foliage, or applied to fresh cut stumps in concentrated form.
Imazapyr, the pre-emergent ingredient, will prevent seed germination for a few months in the areas where it is applied to the soil.
Diligence will be required to eradicate this invasive plant.
Thank you for asking,
-Travis

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 24 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product Results were noticed in 2 days. Very effective as I am using to kill grass that is growing in a rock driveway.. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Glyphosate Weed Preventer Great value. Has the same basic ingredient as Round-up, yet in a greater concentration. Definitely the way to go to control weeds and such. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good progress after two weeks I used this two weeks ago for the first time. Much stronger and much better weed killing than the normal weed killers on the shelf at the local stores. So far our ball field looks better than it has in a very long time. I may win the battle! July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WORKS VERY WELL EASY TO USE--TAKES A FEW DAYS TO SEE RESULTS BUT VERY EFFECTIVE August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works as described It takes a week or two to significantly kill existing weeds and grass but it yellows then dries them out to where they can disintegrate which is where my application area is approx 2 weeks after applying. I can't yet report on the longevity of preventing regrowth, but we'll see. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Killed the Weeds Works as advertised. Killed the weeds in the time indicated. April 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works great, good value! Rated as good because I have not used it long enough to see lasting results. May be excellent, based on this outcome over the next year. Results are not as fast as some of the reviews state; however, within 1 week all vegetation has been killed. Works better than other brands I've used, and much better value for price. Very satisfied so far. September 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the price Works well. Was able to actually rake weeds away and they were dried up so well. It does take time allow 4 to 5 days but worth the wait. I thought I had mixed it wrong because by day 3 didn t see much of a difference by day 5 it was dried and dead. October 6, 2015
