Customer Questions & Answers

Where's it made?

Asked by: Crash
As I did some searching I found that most likely they are made in India. If it was U.S. made it would be 3 times the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Knowing how to use makes the difference. This is not a pry bar. The spade end is for cutting through roots you can't get to with an axe (Keep it sharp). The pointed end is for busting through concrete and then prying the chunks out. At 17lbs, using this properly and vigorously will change you from a girly man and pump you up. If you try to use this to pry a stump out of the ground without chopping through the root ball, yes, it will bend. Try using your wood-handle shovel! Someone reviewed this and said they bent the bar 90 degrees. Duh. I have one of these in CA and have used it many times as described above to remove Cypress and Ficus stumps. And yes, it bent slighty, but rotate it against the bend, and it corrects. In CO, I have surface rocks in a gravel road up to 12" in dia. If am lucky enough to get one of these bars at my local HD, it'll make short work of those bruisers. Everyting has limits. There's no substitute for knowing what you're doing. BTW, I'm 65!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beats using a power auger in GA clay First I tried using a post hole digger in my GA clay (rock hard) soil. No luck. Then I rented a power auger. It made holes about 10 inches deep, but couldn't go deeper. A guy at Home Depot recommended using this to break up the clay, then use the post hole digger. That combination worked great. I was able to dig the 2 foot deep holes I needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bent like plastic Bent to a 90 degree angle in light soil in the back yard trying to lift a 5 gal size lemon tree. Very poor quality and a waste of $31.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This thing is junk My yard is full of rocks and I bought this because I was sick of borrowing my brother in laws. First day, first task, it bent on me. I wasn't even using it on rocks, just trying to remove a stump. No heavy strain, certainly not the level to which I felt I was abusing it. Check the details, no warranty, that should tell you something.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bent On First Use I bought this bar to take in the truck off-road. The very first time I pulled it out of it's plastic sleeve and put it to use, I bent it! I've got pinch bars from years ago that aren't quite as long but are rock solid. I'm returning this to Home Depot as defective. The quality control of heat treating must have been off.
