CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 1.5 out of 5 by 31 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WEAK SAUCE Not worth the gas it costs to bring it home. Used it twice with a wedge and it failed miserably. Finished it off on a rotten stump and the result in the posted photo. June 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Useless for intended purpose Wish I had read the reviews before buying! Don't understand why Home Depot sells this anymore after seeing the reviews and my own experience. The splitting edge is dull and blunt, almost a bull nose style.Just bounced off soft pine. Can't take it back because I tried to put an edge on it. After 15 minutes of grinding and filing still couldn't get an edge that would penetrate soft wood. .Going to take it to my local chainsaw shop and they will charge me 10 bucks to grind it and make it usable. It might be usable as door stop but it sure don't split wood May 1, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't buy it. Head will almost immediately separate from the handle. June 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Garbage The cutting edge on this product is minimal; the angle is so blunt that the maul will bounce off a log rather than cut into it. Product needs a much thinner leading edge, more like an axe. I rehung my older maul and finished out the season. January 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dont BUY IT !!! Bought towards end of wood season last year.....only split half dozen or so logs....splitting first for this year....handle broke off on inside of head like one other user stated...like hard candy....guess ill go back to the good ole hickory....DONT BUY THIS MAUL....Poorest quality. January 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by very dissapointed seems that the splitting edge is blunt. takes way to much effort to split wood do not recommend January 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not purchase!!! Horrible product, used twice, only split about 10 logs and the handle broke. Worst maul I have ever purchased. November 27, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Head came off I bought this splitting maul several months ago and finally used it to split wood. After about 6 hours of use the head came off. Too long to get a refund. I should have read the reviews before I bought it. Now I have an expensive splitting wedge! Why does Homedepot keep selling these defective products. September 18, 2013
