It says in the specifications that it isn't waterproof but if it is sealed with caulking around the floor and wall edge will it be waterproof? Thanks.

Answer:
Good morning, Roppe does not recommend using wall base as a water barrier. The water will cause the adhesive to pull away from the wall, and shrink and distort the wall base.

In a situation like this, waterproofing is a relative term for what and where you are placing it.

Not sure why it would make any difference as to what used for? It will be used for trim around bottom of walls, of course. I don't think it can be stain and mark resistant for one use and not for another! Thanks for noticing my question Julie, but I am still in a quandary!

Answer:
Some disinfectants, cleaning agents, floor maintenance products and pesticides may stain or damage the surface of the 700 Series Wall Base. If applying finish to flooring, take necessary precautions to keep finish from the 700 Series Wall Base. If applying finish to the 700 Series Wall Base, test inconspicuous area first for compatibility.
Hope this helps! Thanks Julie

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rubber Base It was Roppe Base: would you expect it to be anything but a good product. It installs fairly easily, it looks great and it does the job for which it is intended. September 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by First time installer of the vinyl baseboard Product looks very nice when finished. If you are a novice or a first timer, youtube for installation advice. Corners are a bit tricky. Get the nozzle for the caulk for even distribution of the adhesive. Worth the investment. Overall happy with finished look. April 15, 2014
