I am a 69 yr old woman, that was able to take the Rust-olem Transformation product to transform my old condo countertops into an upgraded look.
I live in a senior complex & all the condos have looked the same since they were built in 1963-69. By using this product I have been able to completely revamp my kitchen into the 21st century.
I have always liked the look of granite, but as I often drop thing on the countertop, I did not want to deal with broken glass or china. This product has allowed me to have the look & avoid the hazard of broken items on the cabinets or the floor.
I did this myself, and the hardest part was the sanding, but as I divided it up into 2 days, it went very well
I love it!!!

I recently did both my cabinets and countertops with the transformations. I thought the countertops were easier in a way (less steps, no smaller pieces to move around-take down, put up, etc). I have a small kitchen. I found the instructions to be accurate. It is hard work but it isn't hard to do. It was a LOT of sanding! My only tips are to make sure you have gloves for this...it is a sticky mess. Also, I did so much sanding, my sanding block frayed a bit and that can hurt if it catches your skin.
I love my counters!

This stuff is amazing. For those of us who can't afford to replace our counter tops, Rustoleum has brought a product that can make them practically brand new. We bought two kits and did our kitchen, both bathrooms, and a small counter in the hallway. Now all are matching and the old chipped mauve and yellow ones are like new.
I have to say, this was pretty easy for what you get. It was messy. It was work. It was true DIY. But it wasn't hard at all. Anyone can do it. The hardest part for us was keeping the kids away for two days while it dried.
Tip: make sure you really check everything after you've sanded the chips down. If there are spots that are bare or look pretty low, take the extra four hours and re-coat those spots. It's so worth it.
I love the way our counter tops look and feel now. I'm proud to show off our home.
P.S. The Desert Sand looks REALLY GOOD with white cabinets! So we painted those too!

This products was relatively easy to apply even though there are multiple steps. It is quite pricey but still cheaper than replacement. They should supply enough epoxy top coat for a second coat. I bought through special order another can of top coat and the results were an improvement.

I have used other resurfacing kits in the past with What in the world was I thinking results.Rust-Oleum Has a Great reputation and so I figured I would give it a try and save some money on replacing the bath top.
So you open the box and cool there is an instruction DVD that will show you everything you need to know and everything you need to get the job done.I like that.
The instructions are simple and straight forward step by step on how to use the product. The only additional things not included are a paint brush and two rollers, painters tape and a plastic drop cloth. The process is a little labor intensive but worth it.You rough up the counter top, paint it with adhesive, sprinkle with chips making a big mess :) then let set for 12 hours. Now the labor begins, vacuum or sweep excess chips away.then sand the chips until the counter is where you want it.then mix and roll and brush on the top coat.let dry for 4 to 6 hours. It will take a week to fully cure.I love the look and the pictures don't do it justice,On the plus side I saved some money over replacing the top so win win.I Highly recommend this if you need to refinish your counter tops and don't mind a little work.
