Three questions: 1) Does this product have a crank? 2) How close can the hooks be moved together (if I have toddler bikes)? 3) Can the hooks be turned

The third question is can the books be turned away from each other for instance if I want to hang something else?
Asked by: agilityequipmentstorage
"No" to 1, As close as they need to be (instructions cover this), to 2. and "Yes" to 3

How much space is between the ceiling and bike when raised up? I have 10.5 ft ceilings and want to make sure I'm not bumping my head

Asked by: JudoStud
I have a 9 ft ceiling and It works just fine in the location I put it in. Look at my post picture and notice that it's located along the wall right next to a doorway. Tight squeeze but it works. I guess you'd want to strategically place the bike in an area where you don't have to worry about bumping your head.

The product does what I needed it to do: get the bikes off the floor and out of the way. A garage is meant for storage of cars. The one item I would like to see is to provide a second cleat and make storing the cord much easier and neater. The mechanical advantage could be a little better. The family can hoist the bikes up without problem and this beats lifting to hooks on the ceiling.

Easy to install other than 10' ceilings and I'm not a fan of heights. The system gets them up and out of the way. My wife can raise and lower her bike quite easily. Recommend to anyone who needs space in the garage.

Pros: not too expensive, relatively easy to install, holds bike by handlebars and seat securely. Cons: require strength to lift bike to ceiling (my ceiling height is 14 ft, mechanism does not lock to prevent release, but only slows release

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product -- Great price! Installed in my studio apartment. Took 30 minutes to find ceiling studs and drill pieces to ceiling. Threaded rope and pulled my bike to the ceiling 5 minutes later. Easy! I was going to pay $100+ for a trendy wall mount. This looks way better and is much more inexpensive.

The self-locking pulley makes it easy to raise the bike. Only minor drawback, you need to keep the bike level as you lift, otherwise the front end lifts to the ceiling and locks in place.
