Customer Questions & Answers

what is the nozzle size?

what is the nozzle size?
Asked by: kittycat24
The nozzle is 08 that comes standard on the P5R. At 45PSI, the nozzle will throw water 40' and have an output of 3.7 gallons per minute.

How many gallons per Min. does this sprinkler use?

Asked by: Robbie
Per Rainbird specifications P5R, ID A30200 comes with a factory installed #8 nozzle. This sprinkler is specified for 25 to 60 PSI with optimal operation from 40 to 50 PSI. Mid range at 45 PSI the flow is 3.7 GPM with maximum range of 40 ft. Assuming generic single-stage pump flow to be 10 GPM per pump HP, a 3/4 HP home pump tops out with two sprinklers in service which would cover 10,000 square feet. My sprinklers are dependable and deliver an excellent pattern.

Customer Reviews

25 - 41 ft. P5R Professional Grade Riser-Mounted Polymer Impact Sprinkler is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works great, but doesn't last long Plastic takes a beating in full sun enviorment and doesn't last but one to two years. The oscillating set rings becomes brittle & breaks easily, especially after being exposed to sun. These rings are not replaceable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality and dependable. I use these all over my yard. They have good, even coverage and the adjustments are easy to use and effective. Have several that are going on 4 years in service with no problems. I bought a couple in early May of 2015 and they did not come with the additional nozzles for use to change the volume of water and the distance of throw. They were handy on some of my earlier units I bought. I kept the unused ones I got with earlier impact heads. Maybe Rain Bird will package them with the sprinkler heads in the future. Don't waste your time with the cheap ones. These work sooo much better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for Bought 2 of these for our garden not expecting much. Replaced one existing sprinkler and turned it on. Rotation works fine, top diffuser not so much. Could be designed better. The green adjustment knob should be ramped for min / max.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sprinkler I was a little worried about these being all plastic but they work very well. They spray a good 15' I wound up using fewer sprinklers then I thought I would have to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good performance for the money This product has been reliable and easy to install and adjust. On the other side, the spray pattern is messy and it is prone to getting plugged with debris.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product Works good. The instructions on the back of the card were not very helpful.. Needs more information on adjustments.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from sprinkler They work good when I have enough pressure, otherwise they just sit in one direction and do not move.
