Product Overview

The Rain Wizard Urn is a thing of beauty and clever design. Constructed with thick and durable polyethylene resin which holds up to the harshest elements, the exterior has the appearance of a terra cotta urn. The graceful lines, curves, and garnishes on the exterior make it an accent piece on your homes exterior and not something that just sticks to your house. The flat back design optimizes space used and allows you to position the barrel close to walls or flat areas. The top is the only of its kind that acts as a planter space and also self-drains when excess water is present. There is also a channel built into the rim which diverts overflowing water to the front and away from the barrel and home foundation. You can have peace of mind that you're helping the environment by conserving water and giving your garden the best water it can get, devoid of harsh chemicals and rich in nutrients. And you can perform that conservation without sacrificing your home's outer appearance with the very stylish and functional Rain Wizard Urn.

I live in an area where the temperature can vary dramatically, e.g., warm to freezing with rain or snow melt in between. How does this material cope or perform with freezing? Clearly, I'd prefer to drain before freeze, but that is not always feasible.
Asked by: TomK
If it was to freeze without being winterized (drained) it could crack. Not covered under warranty.

The barrel does fill quickly and I do not recommend planting anything in the top because of how quickly it fills and the overflow will wash out any plants. I love the design and the flat back so it fits snug against the wall. I have 2 of these and plan to buy another and daisy chain them together. Absolutely perfect for watering plants during those dry Texas summers.

Two small comments hose bib is too close to ground you either need a stand if available or fashion a adapter. Screen at top is awfully fine and causes water to cascade over top in heavy rain. They do look good and we are happy with them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good looking barrel This barrel looks great. I would suggest supplying a larger spigot for better water volume. Once mine is empty, I plan to purchase a larger spigot to install for better volume delivery. The only complaint I have about this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from rain barrel urn I'm so glad I bought this barrel. It not only looks good but you can connect another back to back without buying a divertor. Have had great comments from neighbors. Planted plants on top. It has small drain in planter so excess water will drain back into barrel. Am ordering another but their out of stock. on list to be notified.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Barrel Great/Delivery Time, NOT! Love the barrel. Does everything it's supposed to do. Online ordering process easy, but delivery to the store for free pickup took far too long. Order sat at factory for a week with no notification. The delivery date was changed with no explanation. This experience has made me question whether I will use online ordering in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rain Barrel The barrel arrived in the timeframe indicated for pickup. Installation was simple. Haven't had a chance to hook up my hose to water yet. Attractive addition to my yard. Not the eyesore that some barrels are.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice for collecting rain, but... The good: The rain barrel is attractive and seems fairly sturdy. The bad: The planter area at the top seems to be poorly thought out. At the first rain, rain water could not flow quickly enough through the supplied plastic screen and all our planting material was simply washed away! ($$ washed down the driveway) I removed the screen so more than 10% of water actually makes it into the barrel (along with any roof debris!), but a summer downpour still fills the barrel too fast to avoid planting material being washed away. The "fix" was to buy a heavy pot for planting and put that pot on top of the barrel -- we're waiting on the next thunderstorm to see if the pot is heavy enough to avoid being washed away by overflow.
