Product Overview

The Rain Wizard Urn is a thing of beauty and clever design. Constructed with thick and durable polyethylene resin which holds up to the harshest elements, the exterior has the appearance of a terra cotta urn. The graceful lines, curves, and garnishes on the exterior make it an accent piece on your homes exterior and not something that just sticks to your house. The flat back design optimizes space used and allows you to position the barrel close to walls or flat areas. The top is the only of its kind that acts as a planter space and also self-drains when excess water is present. There is also a channel built into the rim which diverts overflowing water to the front and away from the barrel and home foundation. You can have peace of mind that you're helping the environment by conserving water and giving your garden the best water it can get, devoid of harsh chemicals and rich in nutrients. And you can perform that conservation without sacrificing your home's outer appearance with the very stylish and functional Rain Wizard Urn.

Answer:
DO NOT INSTALL PLUMBING TO CONNECT TO A RAIN BARREL. Rain barrels are to be connected to drain spouts and outdoor garden hoses only.

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rain barrel Being able to plant flowers in the top is a great feature. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Barrel This barrel is well made out of heavy material. Should last a ling time. It filled up rhe very first rain after we put it out. My grandson lives watering our patio plants with its water. April 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Only lasted me one year I bought one of these in the spring of 2012 i(Terra Cotta color) to collect rain water for our vegetable garden. It worked ok at first but the drain lets out the water at barely a trickle. As I filled it with water this spring (2013), the barrel never seemed to fill up. One day I finally turned it over and there was a very large crack on the bottom of the plastic where all the water was leaking out. I contacted the company (Good Ideas) and sent pictures of the defect near a seam and a copy of my receipt. I was the told that it was out of warranty and that all they could do was offer me a discount on a new one. I believe it was only a month out of warranty. So I want to warn anyone considering the purchase of this unit that the company does not stand behind their product as they are very strict about the 12 month warranty. If they wanted to act in good faith, they would have replaced it. The discount on another unit was worthless as I wouldn't want to throw away good money for a potentially defective product a second time. Please beware that this may not last more than a year. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice rain barrel, especially after you add your flowers on top. Nice rain barrel with overflow options in back. Nice space on top for some flowers. September 17, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Leaks by spout, Used plumbers tape, spigot has leaked from day one. Inlet/outlet connection prevent the barrel from taking advantage of the flat back. Meaning it cannot be flat against the wall. Also if you use the diverter kit recommended, the hose does not fit the inlet tube on the barrel. I was able to modify this issue, but the barrel still leaks. My cement porch is always wet until I get a round to emptying it and using silicone or something to try and seal it. October 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the rain barrel This is the second one I bought this year. They work great. I love mine. Can not go wrong with buying this rain barrel. July 8, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good except no over flow valve When I received it ship to store, everything was fine. Its solid, no cracks or leaks. It comes with a solid brass valve. People complained about the valve hole being leaky probably weren't smart enough to just carefully hand thread as to not cross thread it and cause leaks. And use teflon tape which it comes with some if you don't have any. If you properly hand tighten it, it's water tight just fine. Big problem for me is i live in Southern California. We don't get much rain regulary. And when we do I found the barrel fills up fast. Therefore you need an overflow valve at the top where you could attached hose. Otherwise you must leave the bottom valve open and a hose flowing to some area away from the house. Unless you shut the valve exactly as the rain is stopping you are left with just the small amount of water below the bottom valve. Which is unusable for later use becuase it below the valve line. Therefore its not very feasible for Southern Cal without a top overflow valve because it will just spill out of the barrel which is next to your house and soak your house foundation, defeating the purpose. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not good for Oregon Rains Disappointed in this rain barrel. the spigot leaks. the washer surrounding the spigot leaks. There is a repaired spot above the spigot , it leaks. Does not take to Oregon rains, and boy does it rain in the fall, winter, and spring. Would not buy another . Will figure another way to direct water from the foundation of my home. May 22, 2013
