Asked by: DeDe

Do you have a product for an masonary door over hang (4' wide) with no roofing, or fascia and is flat?

I have a southwestern style masonry home with an overhang above the entrance. The lack of roofing does not seem to be problem (no leaks or drainage through overhang). The problem is when it rains the rain runs across the overhang and in front of the entrance soaking you entering or leaving. Will your product solve this problem or do have another product would help?
Asked by: Dennis

Can the doorbrella be installed in 30-40 degree temperature?

I live in Maine, it is now the end of November. I bought the product but question whether if I should wait until spring to install it. Occasionally we may get a 40-50 degree sunny day at this time of year, but I cannot count on it. Please advise.

Customer Reviews

36 in. Brown Aluminum Doorbrella and Putty Seal (2-Pieces) is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor adhesive, use on a new roof installation before the shingles adhere to each other the adhesive is poor and becomes unstuck from the shingle. does not work well on architectural shingles because of the differing surface heights, the putty strips provided are not enough to seal the gaps. would work better on a new roof if the strip is installed underneath the shingle when installed, but on a roof where the shingles have already adhered to each other you would have to separate them to mount the strip UNDER the shingle and apply adhesive to secure the shingle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not enough putty seal provided Not enough putty seal is provided with this product. Recommend buying some roof sealant before you try to install them (due to the skimpy amount of putty seal provided and the fact that I do not trust the adhesive backing to work alone). The aluminum is pretty thin and looks like it could be easily damaged if mishandled during shipment. I had two sets shipped to my house without any damage (they were shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube). Directions were easy to understand and the "doorbrellas" were very easy to install. I especially liked how I did not have to drill any holes or put any nails in my roof.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dorbrella rain Diverter The Dorbrella was very easy to install with clear instructions provided and accomplishes the purpose it is intended for: diverting rain from over the front entrance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! We gave a roof over the patio that does not have gutters on it. When it rained, the garden in front of the patio always flooded. We installed two Doorbrellas on the roof in a V formation. Now the rain is diverted to the sides and runs down more gently. No more flooded plants! Easy to install and really works!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice quality, didn't stick to roof I bought this to divert rain at the entrance to our home. I followed the instructions and adhered it to the shingles. It stayed attached about a month before falling off this week. The failure seems to be the double-stick adhesive tape. I'll reattach it with construction adhesive, other than the failure the product is fine and as described, but you'll want to make sure you securely attach it and the included tape just can't hold up to the Texas sun.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from one of the few products of its kind sold at Home Depot seems to work, but nothing special. the waterproof putty is woefully inadequate in quantity. adhesive is not particularly convincing either for the asphalt shingles on our structure (must be perfectly flat)
