Product Overview

Rainhandler replaces conventional gutters and protects your home and the environment from the harmful effects of ice, snow, and rain. Snow and ice cannot build up because of the open louver design. Additionally, Rainhandlers mount below the roof slope and are unaffected by snow slides. As the rain comes off your roof, Rainhandler's seven angled louvers break up the heavy sheet of water into small drops. These drops are deflected away from your home where they fall harmlessly to the ground in a 2 to 3 ft. band.

  • Rainhandler returns runoff back to rain size drops which fall naturally to the ground
  • 25-Year limited warranty
  • Self cleaning by design means leaves and debris fall through slats or blow away
  • Works with almost all roof designs and materials
  • Do it yourself friendly, only three brackets and six screws total per 5 ft. section
  • Each section includes attachment brackets and wood screws
  • Patented design reduces soil disturbance and pollution at ground level from storm water runoff commonly caused by no gutters or clogged gutters
  • Less soil disturbance means reduced debris(pollution) flowing into local streams, rivers, and other public surface drain systems
  • Aluminum construction, manufactured in the usa
  • Replaces traditional roofing gutters

Customer Questions & Answers

Is this a do-it-yourself project?

Can a person who is handy with tools put these up themselves? I don't understand the need for down spouts. Are they just to keep the water from running down at the point where the RH end?
Asked by: boo
Yes. I hung 60ft of it on the front of my house last weekend. Took about 2 hours. Also, it's cheaper if you order directly from rainhandler.

How well does it work in areas that receive tropical downpours?

I am considering installing these in the Houston TX area. We frequently receive brief and sometimes sustained heavy downpours. How well does this product handle these types of heavy rain?

Is it best to weatherproof the screw holes on installation?

I live in rainey Florida and the moisture is a problem, especially when it gets into wood and you get wood rot on your fascia and then you have to replace the fascia. Is it best to apply a silicone sealant to each pre-drilled screw hole before attaching the mounting brackets? Or, just apply the sealant over the screws after screwing down the brackets? Or, maybe this isn't even necessary because the screw tightness will hold the bracket tight enough to not allow any water to seep behind and into the screw holes? Just being extra cautious and I don't profess to be a handyman. Thanks, Paul in Tampa

5 ft. Natural Aluminum Finish RH-Plus with Brackets and Screws is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for a patio cover Just installed these on a 12' wide shed style patio cover. Hasn't rained yet, but tested it out with the hose. It looks like about 60-75% of the water is caught and disbursed. I had no where good to put a downspout so I went with this product. I'd recommend it on a patio or deck cover, but IMO it doesn't replace traditional gutters and downspouts on your entire house.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works Works as advertised. I put it on the end of my patio cover as I had no good place to run a downspout. It doesn't replace traditional gutters. It is also very weak and flimsy material. You couldn't lean a ladder against this with out bending it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved my problem of mulch erosion The RainHandler came complete with everything for a quick installation. Had one overhang section which was only 5' wide that continually eroded the foundation bed directly below. The drop was about 8' from bottom of overhang to the flower bed. Once the RainHandler was installed (simple screwdriver installation) the rain is now dispersed about 2' on to the walkway. Still watered the flowerbed but not with the force of the prior waterfall coming down without the RainHandler. One other point to make is that I purchased the natural aluminum unit not the painted unit. Was able to spray paint the entire unit with a good Rustoleum paint to match the beige color of my existing trim. Blends in perfectly with the house.

Install is easy, although product is such thin grade aluminum it is difficult not to dent it while cutting with snips and positioning it to install. Appears to work as described, dispersing runoff in a pattern of drops extending 1-2 feet and even a few drops to 3 feet. If you have an aluminum blade for your circular saw, use that instead of tin snips or a hacksaw. I didn't think about it until I was done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product! Easy Installation! I have a steep roof valley that was washing out the dirt below during a rain. I have decided that the mfg install guidelines did not fit my application, so I installed diagonal in the corner under the drip of the valley. During a hard rain, the water would overshoot, so I installed a double width of the rainhandler. I cut the rainhandler at an angle to fit to the faca on the house. Works great now to disperse the water and keeping from washout below and under a concrete walkway. LOVE this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work great I bought these because I had no gutters over my deck and the rain wore the paint off. These were easy to install and do the job. Perfect if you just need to diffuse the rain and no gutters to clean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does everything that it is advertised to do. It was raining after I had put them up and sure enough the rain was being pushed 2 to 3 feet away from the base of the house. The only suggestion I have for any potential buyer is to measure the drip edge (the distance from the fascia to the edge of the shingle) before you buy. If the the drip edge is less than an inch and a half or less then you will need to purchase their extenders.
