1-gal. Parlor Gold Metallic Specialty Finish Interior Paint is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for a fun metallic accent wall I used this paint for a fun accent wall in my home. Another paint store I went to said that the only way I could achieve a gold metallic finish was to use a two step process - paint a flat yellow/gold color, and then add a (really expensive) gold glaze on top. I am too lazy for that, plus (as you can see in the picture), the detail I wanted to achieve wasn't going to be as conducive to a multi-layered approach. I found this paint, and it totally did the trick! I did use two coats on top of the white background paint, but didn't use any sort of special sponge or roller. Just used my regular old wall rollers and waited a short period of time for the first coat to dry before the second. Everyone who comes in my home raves about how good it looks. The only drawback is that the metallic finish shows every little imperfection in the wall - but that will be true of any metallic finish. I am just glad it is actually metallic and not flat! Now, if only I could say such good things about the tape I used for the stripes.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice look! This is a very nice paint for a special touch to a room. It does take several coats for the best look. You have be careful about not overlapping the paint as it doesn't blend well and you will get darker areas where the paint is layered. It does look great if it is applied correctly. They have some good how-to videos on Youtube.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from beautiful I am so glad I found this metallic paint. My daughter had pink and green diamonds on her wall and wanted to change to gold and white. I contemplated doing gold glitter but that technique was too involved so I searched gold paint and came across this. I tried applying directly over the green paint but it did not cover so make sure you apply it over white if you want a true gold. (applying over green gave it a lovely antique look). Anyhow, the gold has a beautiful finish and is a true gold. It is very classy, easy to apply, and is a great look if you want a metallic finish. Lovely!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Okay, so... copied the accent wall idea from the other person on here who posted a photo and, although it doesn't look as good as his due to my tape job, i am in love with it!! was supposed to have a professional painter do it, but i couldn't wait. scheduled my painter to finish the rest of the room with a rag roll over my previous (light) paint, which i could tell he wasn't happy with (personally, as he had never done that before) so i worked on that, and it was quite a lovely surprise... reminds me of an italian bathroom in an upscale restaurant paint-job wise. had the painter finish the rest of the walls, just going over what was rag rolled previously but he just painted with a regular roller brush... 3/4 looks fab and the last 1/4 looks streaky, but i think he got lazy with all of the stirring that IS DEFINITELY REQUIRED if you want an even look. overall, love, love, love this paint -- as i really had a hard time finding something that truly looked gold and shiny gold nonetheless -- and think it is a great value for the money. had seen painted gold accent jars to use for paint on the walls, a quarter of the size for nearly the same amount, at my local paint store. but, yes, this paint will show your flaws in your walls, as it did in my 100-plus-year-old condo. still am sooo happy with this color and unique look overall!! just remember: stir, stir, stir and work quickly!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Color Was looking for a Gold color paint and this was the only color that was actually gold. The paint itself is about half as think as regular paint and after the first coat I could see a lot of roller lines. So I put a second coat on and could still see a lot of roller lines. But after using the sponge roller it took all the lines out after 1 coat. The corners and edges are the hardest thing to do to look right. I thought I could cut in the edges with another wall that was another color but it leaves a different look to the line you just cut in. I didn't use tape because you always get bleed though with a textured wall. I taped all the trim areas and they turned out good. Sponge roller really sucks up the paint you could get some splatter. Just tape all areas and sponge blot the tight corners and some edges then deal with the tape run thru. They say you need 2 hours between coats but it seem to dry much quicker

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the color I wanted for my room but still a good color I wanted to paint the moldings in my bedroom gold. I saw this color online and decided to take my chances without getting a gold sample from the store (stupid mistake). The color itself is not bad, just not what I was looking for. It's a bright gold, I was looking for something a little darker. But for $50 something in my house will eventually be gold! Just not the moldings in my bedroom :-(
