copied the accent wall idea from the other person on here who posted a photo and, although it doesn't look as good as his due to my tape job, i am in love with it!! was supposed to have a professional painter do it, but i couldn't wait. scheduled my painter to finish the rest of the room with a rag roll over my previous (light) paint, which i could tell he wasn't happy with (personally, as he had never done that before) so i worked on that, and it was quite a lovely surprise... reminds me of an italian bathroom in an upscale restaurant paint-job wise. had the painter finish the rest of the walls, just going over what was rag rolled previously but he just painted with a regular roller brush... 3/4 looks fab and the last 1/4 looks streaky, but i think he got lazy with all of the stirring that IS DEFINITELY REQUIRED if you want an even look. overall, love, love, love this paint -- as i really had a hard time finding something that truly looked gold and shiny gold nonetheless -- and think it is a great value for the money. had seen painted gold accent jars to use for paint on the walls, a quarter of the size for nearly the same amount, at my local paint store. but, yes, this paint will show your flaws in your walls, as it did in my 100-plus-year-old condo. still am sooo happy with this color and unique look overall!! just remember: stir, stir, stir and work quickly!!

This is a very nice paint for a special touch to a room. It does take several coats for the best look. You have be careful about not overlapping the paint as it doesn't blend well and you will get darker areas where the paint is layered. It does look great if it is applied correctly. They have some good how-to videos on Youtube.

Today was my first time using the metallic paint... It looks like sponge paint from back in the day!!! Now I have to pay a professional to come out and fix the wall, so I can paint again... SMH!!! Don't waste your money....

The label is a bit confusing as it states one gallon will cover a 250 sf room, but then it says you will need 2 gallons for one 250 sf room! I used just one gallon, and I was a bit worried about running out of paint, so I was a bit stingy. I ended up with maybe a little less than a quart left over. I rolled on a base coat and then the sponge coat on top. I can see how a second base coat would really saturate the walls with color, but I am very happy with the results I got!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FFSS Perfect for a fun metallic accent wall
I used this paint for a fun accent wall in my home. Another paint store I went to said that the only way I could achieve a gold metallic finish was to use a two step process - paint a flat yellow/gold color, and then add a (really expensive) gold glaze on top. I am too lazy for that, plus (as you can see in the picture), the detail I wanted to achieve wasn't going to be as conducive to a multi-layered approach. I found this paint, and it totally did the trick! I did use two coats on top of the white background paint, but didn't use any sort of special sponge or roller. Just used my regular old wall rollers and waited a short period of time for the first coat to dry before the second. Everyone who comes in my home raves about how good it looks. The only drawback is that the metallic finish shows every little imperfection in the wall - but that will be true of any metallic finish. I am just glad it is actually metallic and not flat! Now, if only I could say such good things about the tape I used for the stripes.....

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Malar Love ralph lauren, didn't like the paint
So I painted my walls a metallic blue and I wanted to finish it off with a gold ceiling and trim.. the paint was far to thin and a gallon wasn't even enough to finish one small room! I tried returning the paint and explained to my local homedepot store how terrible it was, but they couldn't help me and wouldn't take the EXPENSIVE paint back. I called the ralph lauren company and they helped me asap! They payed for all the expenses, the tools I used, the walls AND the paint!

We searched all over for some metallic gold paint and were lucky to find some at Home Depot. It has really enhanced our athletic facilities.
