Answer:
Hi Karie, we would not recommend using Ralph Lauren Metallic specialty finishes on metal. We cannot guarantee the results would be the same as if it were applied to an interior wall.

Answer:
You would use an alcohol or oil-based primer. This type of primer sticks effectively to the wood, and more importantly, blocks any stains you'd have on it from bleeding through into the top coat.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Parlor gold matallic specialty finish interior paint and Gold Bronze matallic paint Love this paint. Thank you Home depot for helping me make my home beautiful. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enamorado I love this paint!!!! It looks so great!! I was a little skeptical at first when I opened the can but I am definitely pleased! September 13, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not the color I wanted for my room but still a good color I wanted to paint the moldings in my bedroom gold. I saw this color online and decided to take my chances without getting a gold sample from the store (stupid mistake). The color itself is not bad, just not what I was looking for. It's a bright gold, I was looking for something a little darker. But for $50 something in my house will eventually be gold! Just not the moldings in my bedroom :-( August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ralph Lauren Metallic Paint Although this paint is a bit pricey, it is a unique and beautiful paint and I look forward to going into my powder room. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Metallic Stripes This paint still looks good after 7 years... Yes, you can really wow anyone who enters your room of choice with this awesome paint. July 11, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ralph Lauren gold metallic paint Really liked this product, covered with two coats on a textured wall with no issue. Would use again, good value compared to other metallic paints. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice look! This is a very nice paint for a special touch to a room. It does take several coats for the best look. You have be careful about not overlapping the paint as it doesn't blend well and you will get darker areas where the paint is layered. It does look great if it is applied correctly. They have some good how-to videos on Youtube. April 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Okay, so... copied the accent wall idea from the other person on here who posted a photo and, although it doesn't look as good as his due to my tape job, i am in love with it!! was supposed to have a professional painter do it, but i couldn't wait. scheduled my painter to finish the rest of the room with a rag roll over my previous (light) paint, which i could tell he wasn't happy with (personally, as he had never done that before) so i worked on that, and it was quite a lovely surprise... reminds me of an italian bathroom in an upscale restaurant paint-job wise. had the painter finish the rest of the walls, just going over what was rag rolled previously but he just painted with a regular roller brush... 3/4 looks fab and the last 1/4 looks streaky, but i think he got lazy with all of the stirring that IS DEFINITELY REQUIRED if you want an even look. overall, love, love, love this paint -- as i really had a hard time finding something that truly looked gold and shiny gold nonetheless -- and think it is a great value for the money. had seen painted gold accent jars to use for paint on the walls, a quarter of the size for nearly the same amount, at my local paint store. but, yes, this paint will show your flaws in your walls, as it did in my 100-plus-year-old condo. still am sooo happy with this color and unique look overall!! just remember: stir, stir, stir and work quickly!!
