What type of tape is the best kind to use for this product that will not damage the floor if used to tape directly on?

I'm using it on a floor I cannot damage and the flooring needs to be taped down so it doesn't move. I heard the ram board tape will damage the floor if used to tape directly onto the floor. I need something strong that will hold down the flooring, but will not leave a residue on the floor when taken off.

Answer:
Perhaps use a masking tape for delicate surfaces. I believe 3M puts out a product like this and I also believe that Home Depot carries it in the paint department.

I'm not sure how large your floorspace is but mine was 4 courses of ramboard wide and about 24' long. I laid out the ramboard, flipping up the edges to catch debris, and then duct taped the ramboard courses together. I also had a baker scaffold rolling around on the ramboard. In this configuration I didn't have any sliding or movement across the newly finished semi-gloss polyurethane floor and no residue Read More

I think so. I have it down now and I have a bunch of guys bringing all sorts of stuff through my house. It's pretty thick material.

Answer:
Maybe if you used 2 layers. It also probably depends on how delicate the tiles are, and how rough whomever is climbing the ladder is working.

Answer:
My initial thought is, "Not easily"
I think it's too stiff to fold and kink over the steps though it would work well if you could get it to stay.
I suppose it would be possible to cut pieces to fit and then tape the nose and ends. It's a lot of cutting but maybe worth the effort

38 in. x 50 ft. Temporary Floor Protection Roll is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for floor protection Yes it is a bit expensive but so is dragging appliances across a new kitchen floor. You do need to reverse roll it to get it to lay flat but it works great. The seam tape sticks well. I would not use the tape on any finished surface. It will probably take the finish off. I also cut it down and used it to protect the quartz counter tops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works good Costs a lot but holds up really well. I bought a few rolls of Ram Board and a few rolls of the thinner floor covering for low traffic areas. There is no comparison though. Ram Board is really thick and holds up against all the contractors who don't care about spilling stuff, wet shoes etc. Ram Board is definitely curly and takes a little bit of time to put down. If you're doing it by yourself the easiest way is to unroll it and roll it back up in the opposite direction to get the curly-ness out. I did have to use Gorilla Tape to hold each piece to the next.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money! It was not durable, rips super easily, and definitely not re-usable. The worse $70 I have ever spend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for weed blocker or sheet mulching a lawn into a garden. I use it to help me start food forests in my lawn. It is cheaper to get cardboard from big box stores like costco, etc, but this is a really long piece and it does not have any stickers or tape on it. The only problem is getting the employees to stock the shelves. Nobody seems to know it exists. My store shows 40 rolls, but they can not find them when I visit the store.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tore too easily, will not lay flat. The manufacturer recommended logo side up when I called them, which makes it nearly impossible for it to lay down flat due to the way it is rolled. Reverse rolling tended to rip the ends. Using an aggressive tape to hold it down to a new floor is risky. I decided to remove it and not use it since it posed a trip hazard when installed as recommended.
