PRODUCT OVERVIEW

No Ductwork No Problem. Ramsond Ductless (Duct-Free) Mini Split Air Conditioning Systems can be installed in virtually any location. Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioners are also referred to as Zone Systems. They cool/heat the zone or areas in which they are installed. When the zone is in use, the mini split system can be turned on. When the zone is not in use, you can simply turn it off. This zone capability allows for substantial energy savings. Ramsond Heat Pump systems not only provide cooling during the hot summer months, but also provide efficient heating for the winter. They are far more efficient and substantially more economical compared to conventional central air conditioning systems. Ductless Mini Split systems are comprised of two main components: 1) The outdoor unit (Condensing Unit), and 2) The indoor unit (Evaporator Unit). The installation is simple. The indoor unit hangs on a metal bracket (supplied) that attaches to the interior wall, much like a picture frame. A three inch (3) hole is then drilled through the wall. The Line set and communication wires are passed through this hole and connect the indoor and outdoor unit together. The Main power is supplied to the outdoor unit. The indoor unit draws its power from the outdoor unit. The system is operated by a wireless remote control (supplied). Simply set the remote control to the desired temperature and the system maintains the desired temperature.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent product and easy to install This freezes me out of my home. It's pretty quiet, on the low fan setting you can barely hear it. 2 problems that make it only 4 stars. 1. The instructions are terrible. I seems they were written for an older model. This model is easy to set up, but the instructions make it seem a lot harder. Also, the purging instructions are on the website, not the manual. (Make sure you open the valves ALL the way open.) 2. The unit came with a lot of extra piping but no tools or instructions on how to cut it down. Now I have 10 feet of extra pipe coiled up behind the compressor. But it works fine September 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Read the intructions. Then Re-read them. The description here seems a bit misleading. For instance the line about the corrosion resistant paint on the outdoor unit saying it can withstand direct sunlight, while the installation manual section detailing where to install the outdoor unit says "Do not install in direct sunlight" Also the description makes it seem like this is just a quick, install and all you need is a drill and a wrench. You have to evacuate the air from the system before you open up the coolant circuit. Not doing so is just asking to have premature failure. Fortunately small vacuum pumps can be had these days for well under $100, and the service valve is just a standard 1/4". For my install I poured a small slab that the outdoor unit is mounted on, and it is covered from direct sunlight. Corrosion resistant paint or not, keeping it out of the scorching Texas sun can only do good. So if you're living in a climate where this thing would be baked, figure out some sort of canopy for it. The instructions for mounting the outdoor unit are pretty flawed as well. I think this is due to whoever they had translate the information. One section talks about the distance you need on each side of the unit, and putting rubber bushings under the feet, while the section that actually concerns installing the outdoor unit only talks about it being mounted on a wall. That pretty much negates their instructions about how much distance is needed on each side for airflow. Either way, make a little base for it, or pour a slab if you're so inclined. Read the instructions and then apply a whole lot of common sense because half of what they wrote is contradictory. I've not had to deal with Ramsond directly, and hope to not have to based on what other people have written here. If I have to I'll amend my review and detail that portion of things. May 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Working Well!! I installed the unit 2 weeks ago, and so far so good. It's been tested in both heat and cool mode and seems to quickly change the climate temperature as expected. I am an electrician by trade, however I don't like working with soldering copper lines. The unit comes with a lengthy copper connection line, but my installation was back-to-back, so it wasn't needed. I called an A/C friend in to cut the lines shorter. Outside of that installation was a breeze. The user instructions could have been better. March 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is a wonderful cooling/heating system it is so quiet I will never buy a regular air conditioner again The product is the best ever for cooling and heating...If I ever need something like this again I would buy another one.....It cost a little more then a normal air conditioner/heater but is well worth the price. The only thing is that you have to have a refrigeration person put it in. I think Home depot should have a person that could do this for you. We had to get our own. October 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by I love this unit We (Owner installers) just installed this unit and it lives up to my expectations. The challenging part of the installation was core drilling thru the wall studs. We decided to place the unit on an interior wall in the middle of the room to enhance the airflow efficiency as opposed mounting it directly on an exterior wall. Although, this was harder the payoff was excellent. Once installed the unit work like a champ. The interior unit is truly whisper quite, as is the outside condenser. The unit quickly cooled off the room and I observed my two helpers did not want to leave the room after the installation. They and their families both stayed in the room on previous occasions, and just now admitted for the first time that the room had a cooling problem. I suspected this, and even asked them before how was the room's comfort level, but they never told me and didn't complain. Now, they can't wait to bring their respective spouses back to stay in the room when they come to visit later this summer. One observation on the cooling coils when it leaves the building. Bending the coils to a 90 degree angle is a lot more challenging. We did not want to over stress the line and create kinks or breaks. I have decided to have a plumber cut the tubes and install two 90 degree elbows so it will fit into the exterior channel housing. The Bottom line here is "I love this unit". Ron May 25, 2012
