Product Overview

No Ductwork? No Problem. Ramsond Ductless (Duct-Free) Mini Split Air Conditioning Systems can be installed in virtually any location. Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioners are also referred to as Zone Systems. They cool/heat the zone or areas in which they are installed. When the zone is in use, the mini split system can be turned on. When the zone is not in use, you can simply turn it off. This zone capability allows for substantial energy savings. Ramsond Heat Pump systems not only provide cooling during the hot summer months, but also provide efficient heating for the winter. They are far more efficient and substantially more economical compared to conventional central air conditioning systems. Ductless Mini Split systems are comprised of two main components: 1) The outdoor unit (Condensing Unit), and 2) The indoor unit (Evaporator Unit). The installation is simple. The indoor unit hangs on a metal bracket (supplied) that attaches to the interior wall, much like a picture frame. A 3 in. hole is then drilled through the wall. The Line set and communication wires are passed through this hole and connect the indoor and outdoor unit together. The Main power is supplied to the outdoor unit. The indoor unit draws its power from the outdoor unit. The system is operated by a wireless remote control (supplied). Simply set the remote control to the desired temperature and the system maintains the desired temperature.

What is the steer for this product

Asked by: Jon
Just so other patrons who may look at this site information, the question was asked, what is the Seer, which stands for "Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating". The higher the rating, the more economically the unit will be to operate.

Could u put compressor in garage? Would there be enough airflow? Would it be a fire hazard

Asked by: ScottH
Yes, as long as the actual compressor unit is outside in the lines run into the Attic with the floor component and remote control are the only ones inside the Attic. I know this because we use them on specific designs in extreme heat make shift buildings in Afghanistan

12,000 BTU 1+ Ton Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner and Heat Pump - 120V/60Hz is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instructions STINK: But product works... Bought this for an outside office (Insulated Tuff Shed). I poured a slab waited a day and on Saturday at 10AM started the install. It was completely installed by 3PM and worked the first time I turned it on. The biggest issue was the instructions were not clear about opening the low/hi pressure ports to let the Freon flow. I read and viewed multiple sets of instructions for similar units and figured out what to do prior to turning it on. I also purchased a flare tool and cut the piping to length. The piping is the thinnest copper tubing I've ever worked with. Very quiet unit and it sure does keep the office cool. I hope the heat works as well. if I had to depend on Ramsond's manual it would not be working.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent product and easy to install This freezes me out of my home. It's pretty quiet, on the low fan setting you can barely hear it. 2 problems that make it only 4 stars. 1. The instructions are terrible. I seems they were written for an older model. This model is easy to set up, but the instructions make it seem a lot harder. Also, the purging instructions are on the website, not the manual. (Make sure you open the valves ALL the way open.) 2. The unit came with a lot of extra piping but no tools or instructions on how to cut it down. Now I have 10 feet of extra pipe coiled up behind the compressor. But it works fine

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst product support ever We purchased this system from HomeDepot last year and had it installed. The AC works fine but the heater will not work at all. I contacted HomeDeport to find out, (since the manual is so bad), if what I purchased included the heating option and they sent me to the Ramsond website because they didn't know. The website will not give you a phone number to call you have to submit an email request for a support call back which I have sent 4 times.. I have not received one call back. But, (aside from the definition of insanity), I keep trying to reach someone. I saw that after you submit a request a number to call shows up but when I called it I got a circular answering system and still no call back. When I looked for the number later to try again you don't get it unless you submit another call back email request, hence the 4 times.. I just bought a lakehouse that needs all new AC/Heating and it's all electric so I am going to put Mini Splits in the house but I will buy them from Lowes instead.. This process is too frustrating to deal with.. HomeDepot should support the products they resell or at least hold the vendor accountable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thieves in the store. Unit works great. To bad someone in the store opened the box and STOLE the coppper tubing and I had to run around late on a Sunday afternoon to find replacement tubing and flair the ends by hand

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We are happy so far with this products performance The only problem with this product is the installation directions. The users manual is not model specific. It is a general split system manual for most models. Did not explain the Pre Charged feature that my model came with. It did not describe the wiring connections effectively. I am a professional contractor and I had to use every bit of my ingenuity to figure out how to install it. I am left with a low voltage wire with plug in connections that is not described in the directions. I have no idea what its for. But the system is working well in my 20'x 20' family room.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Had one for 3 years I gave it 3 stars because it is very noisy and hard to control the temp in the room. I set the controls at 66 and temperature goes to 71-74.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Read the intructions. Then Re-read them. The description here seems a bit misleading. For instance the line about the corrosion resistant paint on the outdoor unit saying it can withstand direct sunlight, while the installation manual section detailing where to install the outdoor unit says "Do not install in direct sunlight" Also the description makes it seem like this is just a quick, install and all you need is a drill and a wrench. You have to evacuate the air from the system before you open up the coolant circuit. Not doing so is just asking to have premature failure. Fortunately small vacuum pumps can be had these days for well under $100, and the service valve is just a standard 1/4". For my install I poured a small slab that the outdoor unit is mounted on, and it is covered from direct sunlight. Corrosion resistant paint or not, keeping it out of the scorching Texas sun can only do good. So if you're living in a climate where this thing would be baked, figure out some sort of canopy for it. The instructions for mounting the outdoor unit are pretty flawed as well. I think this is due to whoever they had translate the information. One section talks about the distance you need on each side of the unit, and putting rubber bushings under the feet, while the section that actually concerns installing the outdoor unit only talks about it being mounted on a wall. That pretty much negates their instructions about how much distance is needed on each side for airflow. Either way, make a little base for it, or pour a slab if you're so inclined. Read the instructions and then apply a whole lot of common sense because half of what they wrote is contradictory. I've not had to deal with Ramsond directly, and hope to not have to based on what other people have written here. If I have to I'll amend my review and detail that portion of things.
