Product Overview

Rapid Set Cement All is a high quality, durable, easy-to-use, multi-purpose repair material that can be used for almost any type of concrete work, including concrete repair, grouting, anchoring, casting, underlayment, and more. It is ideal when rapid strength gain, high durability, and low shrinkage are desired. Cement All sets in 15 minutes and is ready to drive or build on in one hour. Durable in wet environments, it can be applied from featheredge to thick. Cement All is a blend of high performance Rapid Set cement with fine graded sand. Cement All offers superior resistance to chemical attack. It is non-metallic and no chlorides are added. Cement All allows the repair area to be painted, coated, or sealed soon after application. Under dry conditions, water-based coatings such as latex paint can be applied after the product is hardened, which usually takes one to four hours. Solvent-based and impermeable coatings such as oil based paint and epoxy can be applied in 16 hours.

Customer Questions & Answers

Can this be used to create a sloped floor for a shower?

Currently there is a concrete slab. I am looking for something to create the slope to the drain that can also be feathered at the edges. It will then be covered with a kerdi membrane. (Also, I am wondering if it can be applied in layers so that I can work slowly.) Thanks!
Asked by: SimpleKitchen
You can't work slowly with this. It sets up way too fast. I wouldn't recommend using this for the slope. Vinyl Patch Repair may be a better product for that.

can it be used to level a small gap on concrete floor for tiling on

area to be cover is 4 x 2 sq ft 1/8 to 3/16 gap
Asked by: wenz
I somehow missed the dimensions you listed, but personally, I think the Cement All will work out great on that size area. Keep mind, this is not a self-leveling product, so you will need a trowel, or a large plastic drywall knife or something like that to position the Cement All how you want it.

Can I just sprinkle, pour, or sweep the dry product into cracks and then water it in?

for crack in patio
Asked by: Grams46
You cannot use this product this way. You will want to mix with proper water ratio and then apply. Thank you for choosing Rapid Set!!

This is worth Reading! The following is basic info you need to know if you are not familiar with how fast Rapid Set Products can set. If you are using this on a warm or hot day, there are a few key points to know BEFORE you get started. 1: If it is Warm or Hot outside, keep the bags of Cement All in the shade or better yet inside an AC conditioned space. If the dry Cement All is above 80 degrees than you are already asking for a short set time, the cooler you can get the mix (No, do not go to the point of freezing temps) the closer you will be to the directions set time. 2: Do not use warm water out of a hose. Either let it run so it turns cool, or better yet, use Ice Water (with the ice cubes melted 100%). 3: Do not use a wheelbarrow that has been sitting in the sun for hours, or even better yet, use a 5 gallon Home Depot Bucket and a paddle mixer. DON'T mix the entire bag or box, start with 1/4 of it if this is your first time! 4: If you followed the above, you can also add Rapid Set Set Control packets to the mix which will increase your set time Do you see a theme here? The temperature of EVERYTHING will have a dramatic effect on the set time. One of the reviews stated even with the Set Control product added, it only gave him a couple of extra minutes. That was probably true, BUT when you don't properly prepare / ensure everything is at "cool-temperature", there is only so much one little packet can do. Not to mention taking the above steps will help save you money as you will need to buy less of these packets. 5: The addition of the Concrete Pharmacy Flow Control product basically makes the Cement ALL FLOW. It is really amazing how you can add a little pack (which looks like sugar but is not) to your bucket, turn on your paddle mixer, and 20 seconds later the entire product has totally transformed into more of fluid like substance. Besides those benefits, the really important one is the fact you will use less water. Water weakens the final PSI of the product a lot (obviously you need water to start the chemical process, but using the minimum needed will increase the strength of the product. If you placing Cement All over the top of existing concrete, thoroughly saturate the existing concrete with water, let the surface water be absorbed by the concrete, repeat, THEN you can apply the Cement All. If it is a warm or hot day, I would keep the area in the shade one way or another Before and After applying the Cement All as I have personally experienced the product lifting off and cracking when I did not do this. It appears when it is applied to a hot concrete surface, it may harden up too fast and not achieve a strong bond. Also, you MUST saturate the existing concrete with water, if you don't, then you are asking for problems. DONT FORGET THIS STEP. The water which is absorbed by the existing concrete will help create a suction between it and the Cement ALL. Rapid Set makes some incredible products and this is no different. As with most things, understanding a few key details makes all the difference in the world. Cheers!

Rapid Set Cement All is a difficult product to use in practice for DIY due to 1. Very fast setting time and 2. Very heavy mixed for feathering. It is more suitable for casting, post forming, or pouring into a small confinement area for DIY on weekend. I did attempts to find contractor, landscaper, handy man to patch and resurface concrete driveway but I got several crazy quotations. Everyone in Bay Area, CA wants a minimum $100 per hour, need 2 people, take 2 - 3 days, not including materials. This is my third batch of mixing Rapid Set Cement ALL, Blue. But it is a first time that I use it to patch driveway crack. I knew that it will dry very fast from previous mixes; so, I purchased two buckets from Dollar Store for mixing two batches due to very fast drying time, not enough time to really smooth the finishes unless you are Mike Haduck. Note, Set Control will not help much to extend working time . Good things about Rapid Set Cement All 1. Stick very well with sufficient clean surface, 2. Very strong, and 3. Cement base; so, I can resurface after 28 days with 3,000 psi pressure washer. Avoid all polymer base products and caulking hard or soft to patch if you plan to resurface it. Polymer will not stick to any concrete resurfacer products on the market. I live in BayArea, CA; so, concrete resurfacer will last a lot longer because no snow here. Water can get into concrete and freeze. Water expansion can easily cause concrete resurfacer to crack. Watch You Tube video by Mike Haduck first before you start your project and observe how he mixed Rapid Set Cement All with water. I do not think that he follows CTS instruction; otherwise, the mix will be too thick to work on. I followed Mike Haduck; how the mix should be but I used my drill with paddle attachment to mix in the bucket. As Mike Haduck mentioned, area need to be wet for Rapid Set Cement All to stick. I used empty cleaned Windex bottle with water and really spray (no water paddle, please) on the area first before apply Rapid Set Cement All. I generally follows the steps that others recommended: 1. Chisel, 2. Clean and Clean more, 3. Mix Rapid Set Cement All, 4. Patch as fast as you can, 5. After Rapid Set Just Dry, spray water, Dry, spray water,..., for the next 1 hour. Note, crack line may still look wet but adjacent surface area is dry then spray water lightly and keep it moist for 1 hour. Pictures shown: 1. Cleaner, Brushes, Vacuum, Rub Stone, etc all from Home Depot except bucket. 2. Crack after Chisel and Clean. 3. Patch Crack, 4. others. Next is pressure wash, clean, and resurface to 1/4 " thick after 28 days. Not sure yet what to use for concrete resurface but should be light and easy feather. CTS products Rapid Set Blue and New Crete are not good to concrete resurface. They are set too fast and difficult to spread the mix in large area evenly, not easy to feather across 320 sq.ft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I'm a fix-it-yourself homeowner who is not a professional contractor and this is the best cement product I've ever used, hands down. I've used it for exterior repair on the foundation and interior repair on cement floors and cinder block walls. Easy to work with and dries hard as a rock. A few tips: this stuff starts to harden up within 20 minutes so it's best to mix it up in small batches. Use a measuring cup or similar device to get the proportions right and it's foolproof. When first mixed it's soupy - let it sit for a few minutes until it starts to firm up. Then start work. Keep your trowel clean and wet. A water misting bottle is a useful accessory - clean out an old Windex bottle and use that. Easy clean up with soap and warm water. The 25-pound container will last for a while but you can bet this is what I'm buying if I need more material.
