Answer:
This is a coarse 16/20 grit Stucco.
You can Use some DAP textured patch to do the fine filling and blending.
I was able to knock the coarse rapid set stucco down fairly smooth with a disc sander .
When rolled with a 60 grit textured paint the repair will be perfectly blended and invisible.

Hi Shu78, I have checked on several polyurethane molding manufactures to see there recommendations for adhesive.
Several manufactures recommend a construction adhesive. I have provided a link below for the most common.

I need to patch the underside of a windowsill. Will this stick to the mesh and not fall off, with nothing holding it?

To clarify: this is the underside of a horizontal surface, so nothing except stickiness is holding the stucco in place.

Answer:
Hi Howlleo, this is a good patch for thin repairs. If you have a good size hole under your window sill you will want to use Rapidset Mortar. The layer of stucco is actually a thin coat, like a top coat. Either one will stick i place and these are designed to set up in 15-20 minutes.

Answer:
You can, but your cost will be high. Why not just do a regular finish coat. I'm assuming the scratch coat and brown coat are already completed and you want to skim coat over the brown coat, right?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better than I thought! I finally broke down and decided to buy a box of this last time I was at the Depot. I held off from patching up the wall stucco at the back of my house, as I was gonna have my concrete guy do the work, but when the days and weeks went by, I figured he was busy with bigger jobs and decided to do the work myself. The instructions were clear and simple and only mixed what I needed for the repair area. The stucco patch mixed up quick and nice. Application of the patch went on easily with minimal waste. Upon inspection of the patched area after the recommended time to dry and paint, the repaired spots felt solid. I tried using a regular sponge to bring out the texture to somewhat match my original stucco, but I should have bought a regular sponge float. Nonetheless I am happy with how this product worked out. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for patching damanged stucoo I had some areas under my front door and along the bottom of the house where the stucco has crumbled away. The stucco patch from Home Depot is great for patching these areas. I used a 5 gallon bucket from Home Depot to mix the compound with water to prepare the stucco. The instructions give a ratio of 4 parts mix to 1 part water and using putty knife for a slump test which shows it is the right consistency. I used a putty knife to apply it and it gives a great texture that matches my original stucco. I covered about 8 square feet using half of the package. After about 3-4 hours it is ready to pain. It's a great product. January 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works excellent if you "control" it This stuff sets fast so when working in temperatures of 80 deg. or higher I'd recommend using "set control" to slow the drying time if you plan on taking more than five minutes to apply it. I live in a warm region so I usually use the set contol regardless of the ambient temp unless its a very small patch. Why be rushed? Apply it with a regular steel trowel then use a red rubber float ($4) which will make it easy to obtain the stucco texture your trying to match. It will also make it easy to blend the edges of your patch seamlessly into the surrounding area. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good stuff Great product for patching stucco applications. ^^ August 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Smooth, Easy to Work With, Dries Fast I was a little apprehensive about patching the stucco on the back side of my house. I have done mortar on bricks and concrete sidewalks, but this was a stand up wall. I shouldn't have feared. With the consistency of mortar (stay on trowel held at 90 degree angle to ground) it went on just as if I was troweling a cement sidewalk. In fact, I used a cement trowel to do the work and a cement float to get the dimpled look of the texture. And a clean piece of plywood for a mortar board (easier to use than scraping it out of a mixing bucket). The stucco patch mixed easily with no lumps. Like mortar, it dries just a little shortly after mixing so what is a little too wet when mixing comes out the right wetness for the job. There are directions on the bag to mix 1 part water to 4 parts stucco patch. June 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressive results I used this product to make repairs to the stucco on my home after having some electrical work done. Holes left by electrical conduit, and the removal of the old electrical panel left the stucco finish cracked and looking unsightly. I chipped away all loose stucco and removed dust. I then painted the exposed surfaces with concrete bonding agent and allowed it to dry before using the stucco patch. This product is incredible. It mixes really easy by hand, it grabs on tightly, and dries fast. As it dries it gets hot to the touch. The most impressive thing is that it dries super hard and does not crumble when dry like other concrete stucco mixes. The product dries in 20 minutes at 70 F degrees per the package label, however in the Summer time when temperatures are in the 90's it dries in less then 10 minutes. Knowing this, I mixed very small batches and I was able to get the job done with absolutely no waste. After applying the base coat, I was able to match the Spanish lace stucco finish exactly, looking like no repairs were ever done. When dry the product is white. I highly recommend this product, the results are amazing, specially for a first time attempting something like this. The only negative thing about this product is the high price. I found a video made at a Home Depot where a company rep demonstrates the many uses of this product. I viewed that video and learned some great tips and techniques specially how to accomplish the Spanish lace stucco finish. Link provided below. September 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for top coat I had just installed two windows and I needed to put the top coat on my stucco repair. I usually use the regular stucco mortar, but instead I tried this stucco patch. This stuff mixes very easily. It goes on well and has a sticky consistency - sticks well to the scratch coat. Due to the stickiness, it does leave some trowel marks, so keep an eye out for them and smooth it out before it dries. This material doesn't have as much sand, so the finish is a little smoother than the original stucco. Also, you use quite a bit of the material, so the cost is pretty high. One thing I will say, for a beginner, this is awesome stuff. It's very easy to apply and to use. If you're experienced in stucco work, you should stick to the regular stucco mix, not this stucco patch. October 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good for most small patches I'm re-writing a review since the product didn't work great for a particular job. In general I love rapid set products and this one works good for most patches. If you're looking to match a really smooth surface texture this product might not be your best choice. October 1, 2014
