We live on a corner lot and need to make a large post to protect our fence from big trucks that take the corner too close. Can this be used for posts or is it only good for patios, patches, etc? Thank you!

Answer:
Oh yeah... this stuff sets surprisingly fast, so you have to move quick. Very quick.
There must be a chemical epoxy as it is warm to the touch as it hardens. This stuff would be perfect to use for posts without question...you just have to worry about making sure you are all set up, before you pour the stuff. Again,...move quick.

Answer:
It's considered an 'anchoring cement'. I used it for a concrete 'repair', meaning I troweled it in and it set up nicely. I would say this would work for that usage, but I'm no expert on building concrete posts. It's entirely possible a less expensive product might do that job just as well for you. I'd run that one by someone at Home Depot.

Answer:
Yes Rapid Set Cement All can be used for all cement projects. Although for setting posts, you may want to use Rapid Set Concrete Mix. It is less expensive and is perfect for post setting.

You will want to use our Rapid Set Concrete Mix for posts due to the depth. Our concrete mix is an industrial strength concrete that reaches a structural strength in just one hour.

From the company literature: "Use CEMENT ALL for general and structural concrete repair, doweling, or anchoring... ideal for airport, highway, and marine applications." I used it outside and it worked very well.

I do not understand when you mention "laying mat". Are you referring to Radiant Heating Mats, or Mats for a Horse Stall or ?? In any event, hopefully you do not intend to "cement" a rubber mat to the existing concrete with this product as it is product is not intended to be used that way.

Answer:
The existing floor needs to be swept clean and cannot have any oils. You will need to saturate the areas where you will be applying Cement All with water prior to install. Once water is absorbed you are ready to apply.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome fast! a rep from home depot was very nice & patience with us to show us how to use concrete mix. He mixed in a Home Depot's 5 gallon bucket and poured it in a wood square for post under my deck. It was very hot like 90's outside. Wow, very smooth & easy to mix for a short time. It was fine powder & off white color. Very fast to dry to become solid "rock" within 30 minutes. Whoa. It must be done asap to mix, to pour in ur project or it will be dry fast! July 8, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Experience Ever Prepared material as required in directions. It set up way too fast. And as far as shrinkage..... it does. It cracks as well. Very dissatisfied, $21.00 a bag was extremely expensive for a product of such poor quality. July 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great solution for small slab work I had to pour some cement to cover the bathtub plumbing work under the slab. Previously, I set a tub box in Sand Mix and also build a form out of plywood to extend the walls of the tub box. I chose this product because I needed something that would handle a depth of 3 - 4 inches. I used one pack of flow control to make the mix more fluid November 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Strong cement for restructuring I used this product to repair a broken corner on a concrete porch. It was easy to work with horizontally and vertically. I mixed up about 4 cups of the cement and built up the broken corner. I am going to resurface the top and sides after the corner has fully cured, which will take about 21 days. After I restructured the corner, I braced it with plywood pieces to keep the cement from sagging while it was hardening during the first 24 hours. I misted it every 15 minutes during that day and a couple of times during the next day. Before I applied the cement I wire brushed any loose concrete from the area and used my leaf blower to clean the area. The instructions said to wet the surface but not let any puddles form so I had to do that first. You will want to have everything ready before you start because you only have about 3 minutes to work with the cement before it starts to harden. If you want a smooth surface, you can use a trowel and then broom to take off the slick finish. Since I am resurfacing, I wasn't concerned with the finish at this point in my project. If you have questions, the company provides tech support by phone. November 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CEMENT ALL BY RAPID SET - POOR RESULTS I'm an experienced builder and purchased Rapid Sets CEMENT ALL product to top coat an old (but clean) concrete floor in thickness ranging from 1 inch to feather edge. Mixed it per instructions using 4 quarts of water per bag and a drill mounted paddle mixer. Also used one bag of Set Delay to provide more working time. I wet the old concrete surface and the mix trowel as expected. Water cured that surface for an hour as instructed. The next day, cracks appeared in the thicker, 1 inch sections. Tapping with a plastic hammer, you can hear the hollow sound in the cracked areas. The thinner sections had no problems. I'm now looking for a repair solution... The Rapid Set service tech could not determine how this happened. I won't recommend this product. September 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good rapid set I realized this cement was probably a little more "advanced" than what I needed, but it still did a great job for my project. I was using terra cotta pots as anchors for posts to hold string lights on my screened porch. When I started reading the instructions on the bag, I realized that this product could be used for many more projects, like cement repair. Nonetheless, I found that this product was great for my little project. I mixed my cement in 3 small batches in a 5 gallon bucket using a mixing attachment on my drill. It took about the amount of effort you would think and I am very pleased with the results. May 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cost me more in the long run I used 6 quarts of water and the packet of set control and it still started setting up before I even had a chance to lay down and smooth a 5' by 2' area. Needs more water and more packets of set control. I spent 20 minutes trying to smooth it out and 30 minutes taking it all back off. This sets up WAY too fast. Doesn't feather very well. I did wet the cement board underneath before applying. June 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product - Important Things You Should Know The following is basic info you need to know if you are not familiar with how fast Rapid Set Products can set. If you are using this on a warm or hot day, there are a key points to know BEFORE you get started. 1: If it is Warm or Hot outside, keep the bags of cement in the shade or better yet inside an AC conditioned space. If the dry Cement All is above 80 degrees than you are already asking for a short set time, the cooler you can get the mix (No, do not go to the point of freezing temps) the closer you will be to the directions set time. 2: Do not use warm water out of a hose. Either let it run so it turns cool, or better yet, use Ice Water (with the ice cubes melted 100%). 3: Do not use a wheel barrow that has been sitting in the sun for hours. Better yet use a 5 gallon Home Depot Bucket and a paddle mixer. Do you see a theme here? The temperature of EVERYTHING will have a dramatic effect on the set time. One of the other reviews stated even with the Set Control product added, it only gave him a couple of extra minutes. That was probably true, BUT when you don't properly prepare / ensure everything is at cool temperature, there is only so much one little packet can do. Not to mention taking the above steps will help save you money as you will need to buy less of these packets. If you placing Cement All over the top of existing concrete, thoroughly saturate the existing concrete with water, then apply the Cement All. If it is a warm or hot day, I would keep the area in the shade one way or another Before and After applying the Cement All as I have personally experienced the product lifting off and cracking when I did not do this. It appears when it is applied to a hot concrete surface, it may harden up too fast and not achieve a strong bond. Also, you MUST saturate the existing concrete with water, if you don't, then you are asking for problems. Rapid Set makes come incredible products and this is no different. As with most things, understanding a few key details you may have not known makes all the difference in the world. Cheers! June 14, 2016
