This is the best flashlight I have ever owned and Home Depot is the cheapest place to buy it. I needed a flashlight for emergencies. This one is super bright and very durable. It is actually probably too bright for use as a "going to the bathroom at night flashlight" in that if the light happens to point at you when put on the countertop it is blinding and wakes you up. I like the fact that it runs on two AA batteries that are inserted one after the other in the base as opposed to the type of flashlight which uses the little circular contraption that you have to fight with to insert three AAA batteries. This plastic battery contraption is not only irritating, but if it breaks in an emergency situation your flashlight is useless.
Anyway, for $15 you can't go wrong and if you don't like it you can always return it.

I've had the lite for about 40 days. I use it quite frequently as a mechanic. Suddenly the switch stopped working. It was an excellent light before the OFF/ON switch failed. Hopefully Ray o vac can fix that flaw in their design.

OK for price - NOT reliable.....
As an inspector, I use a flashlight everyday --
this one, even though indestructible and decent quality and puts out good lighting
- does NOT work half the time / works when it wants / tempormental /
AND EATS batteries like candy ( changed EVERY WEEK)
(Duracell, Energizer Alkaline AND Ni-cads, dosnt matter)
don't bother with this flashlight -
DONT BUY a Flashlight MADE BY A BATTERY COMPANY......(Ray-o-Vac)

I recently purchased this flashlight. I was expecting it to be good quality because I had a Rayovan flashlight before and it lasted a long time with heavy everyday use. The flashlight worked well for the first few days but then the switch started to act up and the flashlight either wouldn't stay on or it wouldn't turn on. The two mode idea is a joke, I couldn't get the flashlight to go into low mode very often. Then today the whole switch broke and I couldn't turn the flashlight on at all. I would save your money and buy a higher quality flashlight.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gunbunny89 Best light ever.
I work in waste management, pumping septic tanks. But I also pump campground vaults (outhouses). I dropped one of these flashlights (DIY2AA-B) into a vault about TWO WEEKS ago. While cleaning out the pump truck today, the flashlight popped up! I installed 2 new batteries, and it STILL works like new! Best flashlight I've ever used.

Indestructible is a good description of this light. Having a titanium/aluminum alloy and rubber coated bezel and tail cap, shock resistant LED and two sets of springs for the batteries allow me to drop this light without fear of damage, and have done so. I like it so much that I bought a second, and have used both for over a month on my night shift. 100 lumens is bright enough for tactical use, and runtime is great. Not a regulated output, so the light will dim very slowly, and not leave you in the dark, but rechargeable batteries will reduce that effect. Low mode is as useful as much or more than the high mode. I can't believe the quality is so high and for such a good value. Could use some knurling on the body, but the rubber helps make up for that, and probably keeps production cost down. The lens is plastic, but well guarded by the bezel. The user interface is also excellent, momentary on for high, and quick tap for low. Will always start on high, no memory mode. Switch is guarded against accidental activation, but easy to access with thumb or finger and will tail-stand for room illumination. If I had to grab just one light to use for a week of survival, this would be it. Easy to carry in front pocket but lacks lanyard attachment and belt clip. Also easily fits in a belt loop for horizontal carry. Perfectly suitable to toss in a loaded toolbox, but keep in mind, the lens is plastic. The throw of the beam is average, with good side spill. Color is whiter than incandescent, but warmer than most LED, meaning good color rendition and easy on the eyes. Rubber cap is very comfortable for 'biting' in hands free use.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RexT Nice LED flashlight for the money
I have used the the Rayovac Indestructible 2xAA LED flashlight every day for for several months without fail. I have changed out batteries a few times. Practical and rugged design. Won't roll, won't scratch what you set it on. You will have to change batteries out more often with this LED light than with an incandescent bulb flashlight but will get much more work light. This one runs on 2-3 volts from two AA batteries. When the two AA batteries fall under 2 volts the flashlight will black out and switch to low light power or fail to turn on. Best bang for the buck for a small non-rechargeable LED flashlight. I'm giving away a few for Christmas presents.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dannie Great flashlight; very bright
Some of the cheaper flashlights have battery issues where they lose contact; I haven't had this issue with this flashlight.
