Customer Questions & Answers

Is Razorback 40116 the same gauge as Razorback 45020?

How are these two shovels different or are they basically the same with the exception of 40116 having a14" blade length?
Asked by: edgar
Item 45020 has a forward turned step. Item 40116 does not have a step. Other than that the blades are the same size. The specs on HD.com will be updated to reflect the proper blade dimensions.

Customer Reviews

47 in. Wood Handle Irrigation Shovel is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from The good shovel This is a solid forged shovel, not the throw-away formed sheet metal kind that cracks after a few hours of digging. It appears to be a harder steel, so far is holding an edge with the brush hacking I do. This one does not say "India" on it and is not as bulky as those, and the steel is better. It is what I would call a size #2. I'd prefer a size #1 because the extra width is slowing me down. But, I'm grateful to find this high quality shovel. The handle is good; the strong stuff. It is almost straight, a low "offset", better for digging and sod scalping; not so much for scooping loose material off of a floor. If you want to dig a big hole, or transplant trees, or fight forest fires, or placer mine, or dig post holes, or clear brush, or. Well, you should just have a real shovel like this in your rig. And they are hard to find in the stores. I am glad I found this source, the old "True Temper" shovels are getting harder to find at yard sales. This shovel seems to be the same really good quality. And the price here was about half of what I expected, even with shipping. And it was delivered to my door!
