This is an impressive product. Heat was immediately reflected from the attic as soon as the sheet was applied to the inside of the roof. The silvertanium combined with my attic fan and evaporative cooler kept the house at 72 degrees in 90 degree weather with only an r8 insulation value, after I added the 16" of blown in insulation (total r60) the temperature has sat on 70 with the evaporative cooler on low, even turning off in the evening each night. Prior to the install the evaporative cooler would struggle on high blower all day and night to keep the house in the high 70's at all on 90 degree days in salt lake city.
The product is great, installation will vary depending on your attic. If you have extremely low height or a lot of angles and obstacles to cut around, this job can take a lot of time. in my 98 year old brick bungalow it took my dad and I two 8 hour days to install the silvertanium (we are experienced builders), the more accessible areas go quickly once you have the application method down, if you have to lay on your back and extend your arms across rafters in order to staple the bottom edges in an area less then 8 inches tall while inhaling wooly old insulation in a 90-100 degree attic, you might want think hard about whether it is worth it before committing the $$ on the project.
In the end it has made a huge difference, The house is very cool and even more economical to cool in an area that requires constant air conditioning in the summer months.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jumpin Easy to manage & install
I put this up over the course of a couple of weekends. It would be a lot easier with two people. Crawl spaces was the most difficult to work in, but that's why they call it a crawl space! I used a manual stapler with a box of 1/4" staples, if you have electric stapler use it, especially in tite corners. I had a head lamp, knife, tape measure, foil tape for corners and parts of ceiling.
I think it will make a huge difference for the summer months.

The Silvertanium Reflective Attic Insulation was very easy to install and seems to be very durable. I would recommend this product as an addition to the standard insulating materials used for home insulation.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sngz4hm A simple do-it-yourself energy saving product.
The radiant barrier was very flexible and strong, easy to cut and install. I noticed the attic temperature falling as quickly as I was adding new pieces of the foil. By the time I finished the installation the future master suite was not only significantly cooler but surprisingly quieter. The only tools necessary were a measuring tape, straight edge, scissors, and a stapler. Good investment.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bobkatt Great product, easy to install, saving on energy bill
Was easy to cut and staple up. Checked temperature before and after installing. Had 135 F. on underside of roof sheeting before and was 115 F. after install on reflective underside. Would recommend to any one trying to save money on energy bills. Did this by myself and was fairly easy after I got the procedure down. I'm 63 and worked in the mornings before it got too hot up in attic. Used tape to measure up rafters and then a string line to line up top of material. Like the video showed, used some colored string on stapler and knife to find them in the insulation.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Satch Amazing stuff, & semi modernized to reduce condensation & potential mold growth.
They used to make a foil laminated paper years ago, called Eagle Shield. This is the modern version. I remember thinking, "this foil paper can't be worth a darn". Then I cut a hole into it the put a pipe through the roof decking. I could feel the heat spewing out the hole I cut. Put this on your truss rafters just below the roof decking. If you get that Tamco gable peak vent this stuff does double duty venting heat out the attic through the little Tamco gable vents. It works great! The whole attic is cooler. I live in Phoenix Arizona, & have built schools in Bull Head, City, Lake Havasu, & other cities along the river where 125 degrees in the shade is not uncommon. So I have to deal with insane heat, & this product really helps! It is much like the old foil coated Eagle Shield paper, only more durable, & it probably has a better fire rating. The hottest day in Phoenix was 123 degrees, but 115 is pretty typical. Until you have this installed then pop a small hole in it & feel the heat it has trapped on the other side, it is hard to appreciate. After you feel how much heat it holds back it is hard to believe! Amazing stuff! Get a smack stapler & a staple gun & go to it. You won't be disappointed! I promise you that properly installed this stuff works wonders! Less heat in the attic means your AC ducts are cooler, & you use less energy there. Your pipes are cooler, or warmer, depending on the season. Great stuff! Now it breathes better, while holding back heat. The breathability lessens the risk of mold growth from poor drainage or condensation. Truly amazing stuff! We used it in open 19' warehouse ceilings a lot. Adding it to any building is a real plus.
