This kit can get you through 72 hours and is good to give you a basic idea of some of the things that you would need. After repacking the bag I still had lots of space to add other items that I would need but that is just my choice. The radio/flashlight impressed me for the fact that a week earlier I just cranked it for a min and a week later I turned it on and still had radio.
The water packets are good and take up less space but I would work on your own 1st aid kit plus toss in some power bars. I bought two of these one for the wife's car and one for our shelter and it's a good deal to learn on if you are just starting out making one of these kits.

Tough to rate the stuff inside as I haven't opened it nor do I ever hope too! The back pack is pretty weak for what you pay. May be better to open pack and transfer to a real bag but don't want the stuff to start spoiling. The shipping and time frame were great as always with Home Depot! Like to see the crank radio etc. have to see it in action before I fully recommend this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RAVinMetrowest Great kit, add a couple of items and it is even better
I've got several preparedness items and this adds to them nicely. I added 2 pairs of leather gloves, a bic lighter, fire cubes, and a headlamp and batteries (all fit with room to spare). Bought several kits and gave one to my family. Check your inventory, I had some missing items and emailed the company directly with photos of the kits. Missing items sent to me in a couple of days. Nice peace of mind item.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by laneyh Great in-car emergency pack
We have made the decision to include a 2-person emergency pack in each of our vehicles as well as at home. This unit is ideal for placement in the trunk for use in the event of an emergency.
Were thrilled when this unit was offered on a 1-day sale at 50% OFF!

I was trained in survival by the army and I got stuck in a snowdrift in Oregon's costal range in 93. I've always carried basic survival equipment in my car.
This is a good, basic survival kit for two people that you can carry in the car. (It's in my Honda.) You could spend a couple of days in the snow, or the desert, with this kit. It's in a basic rucksack, so you could walk for help, although it's better to stay with you car, wrecked aircraft etc.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1stResponder Everyone needs to be prepared to be Self-sustainable in an emergency for 72 hours
This product has everything recommended to sustain onself for 72 hours. It is one of the best commercially made survival packs that I have ever found. If you are using it for one person it will sustain you for 144 hours. It is a 2 person kit and includes the bare necessities and you can add to it if you want something more than what is included. I am extremely happy to say this had to be one of the best I have yet to find.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jaydee Better quality than expected.
In going through items in the bag, I found them to be of higher quality than I expected and all the items would be very much needed in the case of an emergency. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LLLerner Got it as a gift for my mom
I'd been contemplating putting together an emergency/earthquake kit for my mom...then came a Home Depot email promotion and I jumped on it. The kit contained everything I wanted and then some. At first it seemed expensive but I realized that putting together these items on my own (if I ever got around to it) would cost the same or more, even at Home Depot prices. This is in a backpack, already assembled. Sometimes it makes sense to buy rather than make something, and this important-but-not urgent need was one of them.
