Product Overview

For the past 11 years, Back to Nature has been a manufacturer of safer paint and varnish removers, lead paint abatement products, and exceptional cleaning products. Ready-Strip Plus, is a unique paint and varnish remover capable of removing up to 7 layers in a single application using a stripping tool. The revolutionary Color Change feature signals the time for paint removal. The stripper is applied to the surface and turns off-white or a pale green when the paint or varnish is ready to be removed. Ready-Strip Plus is non-flammable, biodegradable, virtually odorless and can be cleaned up with water. It does not contain methylene chloride, caustic, flammable chemicals or harmful vapors like many traditional strippers. Ready-Strip Plus avoids the uncertainty associated with other strippers that are ineffective if removed too soon, or dry out and do not work if left on too long. Ready-Strip Plus eliminates the guesswork. It is a semi-paste and therefore clings to vertical surfaces.

  • Ready-Strip plus can remove most varieties of household paints and varnishes which are water or oil-based including, latex, stains, enamels, lacquers, clear paints as well as polyurethanes, etc.
  • Can be applied on a multitude of interior and exterior surfaces including wood, plaster, concrete, brick, stone, masonry, marble, metal and fiberglass, etc..
  • Ready-Strip plus will not damage plaster or wood (discolor or raise the grain) or affect any surface it is used on
  • 1-qt. covers approximately 12.5 sq. ft. (50 sq. ft. per-gal.)
  • Subject to or will include a recycling fee in the following states: CA, OR, CT

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 45 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gave it a Go and...... I used this product for the first time today to strip the paint off the trim of my house. Couple lessons to be learned, put it on liberally and it'll do as it is intended to. Another was man, I saw multiple layers of paint underneath that did not completely come off, but I don't really care once I primer and repaint. Lastly, there is a tackiness left behind, not sure if its because of the product or just the combination of it and the old paint. Looks like I will have to go back to HD and get the larger size to do the rest of the house. June 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Environmentally Friendly Paint and Varnish Remover I used this product to remove varnish and stain from a wooden grille grate. The nice thing about this product is that it does not have noxious fumes. Also, one can use mineral spirits on their brush to clean off the product. After waiting about 4+ hours, the product turns white and I used a metal scraper to take off the varnish. The product did not take out the stain in the wood very well, but I put on a second coat and waited over night. Then, the stain came out more readily. I rinsed off the product with a heavy hose and water. Highly recommend if one is willing to wait for the product to work. Also, highly recommend if someone is willing to put in some "elbow grease" to save the environment. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant slight odor - works extremely well - exceeded my expectations I did not want to move this table out of the dining room to do this project; strip off old, dark varnish and lighten table top to make it look more up to date. My wife, who is very sensitive to smells, had no problem with the slight citrus aroma. Product applies easily with a brush; let it sit for about an hour, then use putty knife to (easily) scrape off old varnish or paint. For an odor free, natural product, I was pleasantly surprised. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked well for my case I bought it to remove varnish from the table, which I applied a few days ago. I changed my mind and decided to repaint the table, so needed to remove it. Varnish was ready to be removed a few minutes after I applied the remover. As it stayed longer, it also made paint which was underneath softer and removable. No harsh smell .Happy with the result. September 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Did the job I had to apply to the product three time but it did the job. What I liked was the low odor because this was an inside project August 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product worker surprisingly well. I would buy it again September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best stripper I ever used Ready Strip lifted paint from cabinet handles and hinges with ease. It does not have a toxic smell nor did I need to wear protective gloves to rinse product and paint from items. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hard job made easy Old old table given to us 11 yrs ago how long they had it?? Knew it had to be stained and varnished if we were to keep it. Had NO desire to do this, I stripped a dining room set before smelly mess for weeks. Told about it from a friend of a friend, the worst thing that could happen if we used it is nothing. Read the directions and some www tips. - applied it. After supper, baths for the kids, I went outside. Small scraper and whoosh!! No more mineral spirits. For the painted legs go see "Ready Strip", 2 month project done in less than a week. November 10, 2015
