SO expensive, use only for smaller rooms/projects. One gallon got two layers of concrete paint off beautifully, but only about 10 square feet. It has to be put on so thick that it doesn't go very far. Works better than anything else I tried, though. Stripped right to the concrete if left on overnight, didn't smell bad.

I used Ready Strip to remove the 1/8" thick paper backing left after I peeled-up vinyl flooring glued to concrete. I first tried scraping off remaining paper backing using a scraping tool with no stripper -- that was non-starter. I then tried Ready Strip and left it on for several hours, but that wasn't enough time.
I figured out that the key was to leave it on for 8 hours or more. I kept the floor wet, by applying a second coat of stripper or by using a very wet brush with just water. After much time had passed, the glued paper backing was easily scraped off the concrete.
I can only attest to using it for this purpose -- I haven't tried removing paint, varnish or other finishes.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Roy Very Disappointing
Difficult to tell when ready to remove - takes too long to work and left a shiny texture in splotches that I'm not going to be able to paint over. I'm going to have to start over with another product. Very disappointing and time consuming.

Miserable. I have two sticky end tables now, this stuff doesn't work at all.

Used on several pieces of old furniture, one almost 100 years old [photo attached]. Let stripper set 24 Hours, it does dry but wet it with water, softens right up, scrape or use stripping pads. No harsh smell, just scrub with water.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Melissa The worst product I have ever used!
This product did not take off ANY of the topcoat, but it did leave a thick sticky residue that would not come off no matter what I used. Hours of my life wasted. I ended up just trashing the whole project.

This product didn't do anything on an old painted table. Don't throw your money away, it isn't worth it!

Packaging of the product is GREAT - performance of the product was questionable.
We are "pros" at this stripping by now. Last summer we stripped half of our ENTIRE house - exterior painted wood siding. 49 years of layers and layers of old paint. We used a different stripper and it worked very well. but it is VERY expensive. So after searching around we found ready strip. We tried it. So far I'm not too impressed. I would still recommend this product for SOME jobs... It does work - but it would be more well suited for smaller job. If you have 7 or less coats of paint it probably will work alright for you... just keep in mind It dries out quicker and doesn't seem to penetrate as well as other strippers may. This causes you to have to put much more elbow grease into the job of scraping. It also makes some layers (I'm thinking it was the oil based layer) really rubbery, messy and sticky. While I HATE the idea of paying $10.00 more per gallon for other strippers - I think we will have to. Because the trade off to use Ready strip just to save the money - isn't really worth it. We would likely have to apply more coats of ready strip in order to achieve the same amount of stripping we would get from the other stripper. So we are probably not going to use ready strip anymore.
Disappointed because had it worked as well as we hoped for, we could have saved 100's and 100's of dollars on gallons of stripper that we will need over the next few months. :( Not to mention the packaging is SOOOO much better than the stupid half gallon bottle that the other stripper comes in. Ready strip comes in a gallon bucket the way all thick gel strippers SHOULD come!! wish it worked great cause we would be switched over in a heartbeat.
