I really like that this product works quickly, has little smell and actually changes color when done processing. I am applying this product with a paint brush and removing with a flat edge putty knife. The fact that there are five layers of bottom paint on the boat has made it necessary to apply the product twice in some areas. Overall, I like the way it works. Definitely lay a drop cloth or newspaper to catch the falling debris and gloves should be worn as the paint/stripper sludge will get around the nail bed and give you a major grungy black cuticle that is hard to remove. (Yes, I'm a woman and it matters! LOL) Fresh water will clean up the brush and putty knife with little effort. I've ordered the gallon size next to continue my project. This product works well with little effort.

I needed a gel coat safe stripper and this did the job just fine. I found the blue thick residue a bit messy to remove but all in all it did what it was supposed to do for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Paint Stripper for Multiple Layers Typical paint strippers work for about an hour, and this one keeps working for much longer. Consequently, it is effective on multiple layers of paint. However, you need to keep it from drying out over time. I stripped the hull of a 16ft. boat by letting the Aqua-Strip sit on the surface for 24 hrs. I used a cheap .7mill plastic drop cloth to cover the boat hull while the stripper was still soft jelly on the surface. 24 hrs later, I removed the plastic, and the paint just wiped off, but I used a scraper to remove big gobs of goo.
