Can you use this set with an existing natural gas line instead of the gel cans?

Asked by: Swan319
I do believe so. The logs seem to be made of the same type material (ceramic or similar) as the gas logs I had in my previous fireplace. Running the gel fuel heats them up pretty good and no issues wtih mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from looks great, sounds great! These work great and look awesome! Crackling sound and just enough of a flame with the cans of gel fuel. Not for heat of course, but just for atmosphere with NO mess! You don't even have to open the flue which is an energy saver in itself. I bought 3 of them, two for indoor fireplaces and one for an outdoor fireplace. (NOT a firepit, a real fireplace) Someone mentioned the smaller logs looked 'suspended' but if they do, you just have to bend the arms they are attached to and they lay nicely on the large front log. Easily done by hand and only need a tiny adjustment. Go for it! I don't think you will regret it!

The gel canisters do indeed only last a couple hours but for my family, that is perfect. The logs look great and its a well made product. Note that the 24 inch is a bit of a stretch-the logs are a couple inches shorter and fit well in a standard fireplace with a few inches on each side. One thing I have noticed that others dispute is that we do get some warmth that radiates into the room. I dont live in a northern climate so the extra 1-3 degrees makes a huge difference for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great solution! We have a wood-burning fireplace, but just don't like the real wood mess. We considered switching to gas and still may do so, but until we can budget for the upgrade, we bought this item and we love it! It burns like a real fire and the only cleanup is to toss away a gel can. The gel that goes with it has a great flame and even crackles like a real fire! After using this we may not switch to gas...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value, great looking product! This was the perfect solution to our previously, unusable fireplace. What a great idea for people who need expensive fireplace repairs or don't want to spend the money right now on converting to gas. It was very easy to assemble. The only thing was the phillips screws were a bit odd shaped. I found my old Roberston screwdriver (from Canada, square shaped end) worked better. It's very sturdy once together. It's looks good overall, though not 100% like real logs, but good enough for us. I'm happy we went with the oak instead of birch because we'd be looking at a bunch of soot on the white logs otherwise. I would love to see a way to reuse canisters instead of using cans all the time due to cost and environmental impact. However, burning even one can looks great in the fireplace. I am very happy with this product.
