Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by babs Beautiful piece of furniture/Fireplace is awesome!
Looked on line for awhile for this type of unit. A friend told me to look at Home Depot, and I found just what I wanted, a media console with a electric fireplace, with the right wood color, dimensions and quality. This is very nicely made, pretty easy to build. The wood is a nice quality. The fireplace has heat/no heat/ high and low flame "settings" and a glowing embers setting that dims when you shut it off, all with a remote control. Heat setting is quiet and efficient with a thermostat and timer. I love it!

I bought this around 6 months ago and even when unpacking it I noticed some pieces seemed to only be glued together and had come apart during unpacking. I used some gorilla glue and it all seemed to work out. But when trying to move this to a different room the whole thing fell apart like it was made of Legos. Might be good if you setup where it will be for the rest of its life.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Marcy Love the fireplace
The product advertises "wood," therefore we were willing to pay more. Only the facings are wood. The manufacturer used stickers on some of the pieces to label. The stickers are difficult to remove. Used a paint scraper and was left with a sticky residue. Tried several products, and it still won't come off. Fortunately, they face the inside, or I would have returned the product. Also, some of the hardware is very fragile and can't be tightened too much or they break. Otherwise, it's gorgeous and it really does warm our living room.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by David An attractive unit with multiple uses
The unit was delivered in 3 boxes, with many parts to assemble. However, the assembly was well illustrated and quite simple. Once assembled, the unit is very sturdy and most attractive. It fits into our room decor nicely, as well. I like the balance of potential uses: an electric fireplace, with multiple settings and heat; a TV stand, which accommodates even larger flat-screen models; and a shelving unit, providing for electronic items, DVDs, books or decorative pieces.

There were pieces broken off. Two really big scratches on the top of the cabinet. The shelf clips are too short. Were able to find new longer ones at Ace Hardware. The fireplace itself is nice. My son-in-law and daughter put it together for me.

I purchased this unit a few months ago and wrote a review that I loved it and it was great. It still is however, I have noticed that the fan/flame motor is a bit noisy, which I didn't notice in the beginning. Realflame manufactures this insert firebox and their statement is this is how it is made and it does make noise. I have two other "fake" stoves that are small black ones from walmart and home depot that do both fake flames and heat and neither one makes a sound that c omes close to the volume of this unit. So, if you don't mind the "noise" it works well.

I purchased this unit last year and wrote a review that was great, however, the fireplace part of the unit started making a loud humming noise shortly after. It is very noticeable and I plan to contact the manufacturer to see if there is any resolution or solution to this problem. Unit is beautiful but noisy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Techman Searched for a yr before buying = the right choice. I'd do it again!
Works perfectly! Easy to put together = 2hrs by myself. My kids 7 & 9 brought the boxes in the house. Very sturdy after putting together = 55" 3D LG TV on it for months along with components filling the L. side shelves. Measured shelves to fit LG Bluray player, Onkyo receiver, Toshiba DVD/ VHS player before purchasing & all fit easily with back of unit off. Fireplace heater great aux heat for living room. Everyone loves it.
