Mt. Vernon 48 in. Corner Gel Fuel Fireplace in Dark Walnut-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, nice-looking fireplace Assembly and installation of the firebox is required, but with a cordless, takes about 30 minutes for one person to put together. The corner build is excellent, for limited spaces. It has a 2-side pull-screen front which isn't perhaps as nicely made or fitted as it could be, but that is minor. Ditto for the ceramic fake logs, which need to be pulled forward to access the fuel cans, then pushed back away from the front in order to pull the screen shut. My only other issue is the fact that this isn't really moveable for one person, once set up. Place it where you want to keep it, otherwise 2 people will have to wrestle it to another spot, and it is large and awkward to carry. The ethanol cans are easy to use (don't forget to remove the paper label first!) and burn satisfactorily, though not always thoroughly - you can spoon out any remaining fuel that didn't burn all the way after cooling, and place in the top of a new can. You won't be heating a house with this fireplace and 3 cans, but it takes the bite off a middling sized room just fine. No odor noticed, and the dogs love laying right in front when it's burning. Note that right now, ethanol gel fuel in cans is VERY expensive. It is not a replacement solution for gas or electric heating, as you would spend considerably more purchasing gel cans for heat than using your existing system. It's nice for occasional ambiance, and convenient because it needs no outside venting or chimney. Overall, very nice, fits in with just about any decor and I would certainly purchase again.
