I used olive oil. That is all we had when our dog stepped in it. It worked pretty good too.

Answer:
Kitchen cooking oil works very well...just be sure to use only eatable oil for a dog's safety...most dogs will attempt to lick off the excess.

Cooking oil will remove the glue. You'll have to work at it a bit, but the oil will coat the globs of glue and prevent them from re-sticking as you work it out of his fur. Then a shampoo to get the oil out.

Hi Jimmy,
I'm Travis from The Home Depot. Sorry to hear this about your dog.
Mineral oil will remove the glue. Be sure to was off the mineral oil with Dawn dishwashing detergent after the glue is removed.
Mineral oil acts as a laxative in dogs.
Good luck. Give the dog a hug from me.

Answer:
The box contains two glue traps. You'll need to carefully separate them, then set them glue side up in areas where you've seen rodents. Do not place in areas where birds or nontarget animals can come in contact with the glue.

Answer:
Hi Kristen. That's not necessary. The trap contains no killing agents; it's just a glue trap. Please call the Real-Kill first aid hotline for people and pets for further concerns if you'd like, though: 1-800-633-2873.

I've got a rat issue on the roof of my house and I was wondering if these work outside, or if anyone knows some other good product to use?

Answer:
While a glue trap would work outdoors, we would be very cautious about using this method on a roof because birds or other nontarget animals could easily come in contact with it. We recommend a bait station instead.

I bought 6 traps, there are 2 per box. This rat literally walked on the trap and walk right off... Ive bought glue traps before in the past and could not remember what brand it was and thought it was this one... I am absolutely terrified of mice and rats and this just upset me that im having to deal with this and the product does not do what it says.... It even looked like the rat rolled on the trap and left its fur on the corner of the glue. Disappointed with this product. upset

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Might as well be made from cardboard instead of glue I'll just say that the rat strolled across the "glue" trap leaving his giant footprints on the "glue", ate the peanut butter, pooped (on the trap), and left. He probably laughed while he was walking away. It looked like footprints you leave after stepping in a puddle. It didn't even stick just a little and pull away. Save yourself the time and money (and humiliation) and purchase the Tom Cat brand glue traps. They catch the biggest rats and doesn't let them move an inch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy indoor/garage rodent trap. The large rat trap works great for mice. Caught several mice and a chipmunk in the garage. Three mice on one large trap in three days. Do not bait trap, it can make the trap less sticky. Cold temperatures will also make the trap less sticky but works year round in the house. This trap does not kill instantly so you will need to be able to deal/wait for the rodent to die. Keep cats/birds away from traps or they will try to get a free meal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bye bye mice I bought this product today July 26. When it was time to go to bed my husband set up the traps in the kitchen around 12 am, but to make them come to the traps we put a piece of cheese on it. We come out around 1 am to get some water and low and behold we caught both of the mice. This product is wonderful love it. :)

I purchased 20 of these over time and the rats don't go on them, even with careful placement. Once a rat touched one by accident and then ran back under an appliance, easily freeing itself. Don't waste your time. What did work? The old style wooden Victor rat traps with proper bait and placement as well as the JAWS style kill traps. I'm no humanitarian, I will kill rats any way possible, but these glue traps are a joke. Maybe they work on mice, but the rats are too smart.
