my pet dog step on the mouse glue trap. What can I use to remove glue from his hair coat?

Asked by: Jimmy
I used olive oil. That is all we had when our dog stepped in it. It worked pretty good too.

Is it Easy to set up? Is the Box with the trap inside it, then set down under the deck?

Is there a Manual on your website?
Asked by: Posie
Very easy, and clean. They are packed glue side to glue side. Just separate and place in a travel path.

Does this work outside?

I've got a rat issue on the roof of my house and I was wondering if these work outside, or if anyone knows some other good product to use?

I bought 6 traps, there are 2 per box. This rat literally walked on the trap and walk right off... Ive bought glue traps before in the past and could not remember what brand it was and thought it was this one... I am absolutely terrified of mice and rats and this just upset me that im having to deal with this and the product does not do what it says.... It even looked like the rat rolled on the trap and left its fur on the corner of the glue. Disappointed with this product. upset

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Might as well be made from cardboard instead of glue I'll just say that the rat strolled across the "glue" trap leaving his giant footprints on the "glue", ate the peanut butter, pooped (on the trap), and left. He probably laughed while he was walking away. It looked like footprints you leave after stepping in a puddle. It didn't even stick just a little and pull away. Save yourself the time and money (and humiliation) and purchase the Tom Cat brand glue traps. They catch the biggest rats and doesn't let them move an inch.

I purchased 20 of these over time and the rats don't go on them, even with careful placement. Once a rat touched one by accident and then ran back under an appliance, easily freeing itself. Don't waste your time. What did work? The old style wooden Victor rat traps with proper bait and placement as well as the JAWS style kill traps. I'm no humanitarian, I will kill rats any way possible, but these glue traps are a joke. Maybe they work on mice, but the rats are too smart.

One day we heard a rat in the crawl space above the ceiling, an area of 1848 square feet. I set traps near the two access panels and I sealed all possible openings to the outside. Peanut butter was the bait. Several times bait was taken from each kind of trap without catching a rat but I simply re-baited and reset the traps. I wore disposable gloves every time I handled traps mindful of the dangerous hanta virus. After a couple weeks, all 9 rats were caught. Here is the final score based on trap type: 2 Victor Electronic Traps killed 5 rats. 4 Tomcat Plastic traps killed 3 rats. 1 Havahart live trap caught 1 rat. 4 Glue traps caught zero rats. Rat droppings contain the dangerous hanta viruses. To vacuum the droppings, I used a shop vac with 25% bleach solution in the bottom of the tank and I connected a long hose from the exhaust to the outside. After vacuuming, I used Clorox Cleanup spray to clean the hoses and the washable filter.

Hate to say it, but they are pretty much worthless if trying to trap rats. Small mice, yes. Rats don't go near them. And if they do so by accident, they can easily pry away from them.
