It is not recommended to use this sealant on gasoline, diesel or heating oil connections as it contains Teflon which is not resistant to these fluids.

T Plus 2 4 oz. Teflon Pipe-Thread Sealant is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perhaps not for beginners. Great for professionals. I have used T+2 for a very long time. Excellent for natural gas and water. I've never had a leak in either gas or water connections. I've used it daily for years on gas and water fittings from 3/8" to 4". On ABS, PVC, CPVC, Brass, Copper, and Iron. Works great! As with any sealant always avoid the first 2 or 3 threads to keep it out of the inside of the line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent product I am not certain DIY man is talking about T Plus 2 from rectorseal. He said he let it set for some time, but T Plus 2 is non setting, and you cen pressurise it right away.... perhaps user aor material issue.... Many of the gas companies use T Plus 2 ... if its good enough for them its got to be good

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sealant Used Teflon tape to cover thread on hot water tank hose, and it still was leaking. Used T + 2 and NO LEAK. Great product. I will be using T + 2 on all my piping needs and more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Good for PVC(MPT) to Brass (FPT) Not useful at all for PVC (male) to Brass (female) in a drip system. T Plus 2 leaks even worse then PTFE tape. Save yourself the grief and use a PVC to Brass transition union instead. C4733-4 is the NIBCO part at Home Depot. I've been down the road with cheap PTFE tape, then the premium Oatey thick tape. Cleaned everything properly, 3 full wraps, then 5 full wraps in the correct CW direction. Started on 2nd thread, etc. Nothing stops the weeping. I called the manufacturer, and this was one of the three they recommended. They also told me there is a leaking problem with PVC-to-Metal joints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Leaks! This stuff really works well. No need to pre-wrap with Teflon tape. Keep a rag nearby to wipe any excess and all is well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great in my experience Used this to reseal all of the gas lines in my basement after we had a minor leak. It's good because it always stays a little tacky, so it's flexible. We were able to get solid seals everywhere. HVAC friend of mine swears by the stuff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Material Application issue It is not recommended to use a female plastic thread on a metal male thread. If you have a joint that drips, you can try putting a metal clamp around the plastic fitting to prevent it from expanding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A life saver when installing a bath drain We used this instead of PTFE tape to install a new bath drain in our Toto soaker tub. We had purchased a new pop up drain and drain shoe however no matter how much plumber's putty I used around the drain hole on the inside of the tub, I couldn't get the drain to seal. So we went to plan B which was to use a 2 7/8" rubber tub drain gasket between the pop up drain and the inside of the bath tub drain hole and to coat the threads of the shoe with pipe thread sealant. The tub drain also came with a 2 5/8" to 2 7/8" adapter so we also coated the threads of the pop up drain when we installed the thread adapter. Worked like a dream and sealed the tub drain with zero hassle - I wish I'd tried Plan B first! My only comment would be to use this sparingly as it is very thick and can get messy quickly if you use too much on the threads so it pays to take your time evenly spreading the sealer onto the threads with the brush that is included in the bottle.
