EP-200 Epoxy Putty - My Saving Grace
This was a very difficult repair of a stubborn ¾” PVC leak on the cold water line into a 90-degree elbow. Limited repair access allowed my left arm in about 18 inches. All of the prep (sanding and cleaning with alcohol) and molding the EP-200 Epoxy Putty around the pipe joint was done with my non-dominant arm, my left eye, and a small flashlight.
Not the best of conditions however after a week of looking at the repair with a flashlight I found absolutely no moisture around the PVC pipe joint or on the floor below it. I had placed a paper towel below the repair as a monitoring system and it never showed the presence of a leak.
Overall, I am very pleased with this product and am keeping the balance of the material in a double sealed container to prevent premature hardening before I need it again, and I am sure I will, as this was not my first time with a leak of this type. This EP-200 Epoxy Putty is truly My Saving Grace.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Watkinsti Used on ABS Waste Pipe
I used this to repair an ABS waste pipe that builder drilled a hole in 25 years and just used some silicon to fill it in. 25 years later the silicon gave up the ghost. Was going to replace pipe but plumber at HD suggested I give this a try. I applied per instructions and about 5 minutes later had a fix. Worked great for this application plan to use on other applications as well

Drain pipe behind kitchen wall was leaking. Removed section of cabinet back and drywall to find lower of double-stacked 2" PVC tees had leak at joint. Would have been labor intensive to replace but Home Depot associate recommended using epoxy putty. After sanding and then cleaning joint with alcohol, mixed about 2/3rds of stick until ready and then applied. Tested about 2 hrs later and discovered pipe leading to upper tee was also cracked. Mixed remaining putty and sealed that leak also. Waited again and then retested by filling sink 1/2 full, then running disposal to quickly empty the sink. No leaks. Repeated procedure 2 more times with same result, no leaks. Waited overnight and then tested again, still no leaks. Repaired drywall and cabinet back. After reading other reviews, concerned poor cleaning of surface to be repaired or improper mixing was likely reason for low rating. This is a great product but I hope I don't need to buy anymore, anytime soon.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Anonymous Strong under pressure.
Note: Reviews stating this does not work are misleading with the lack of information provided.
This product will not work unless you COMPLETELY mix the two parts until you get a evenly blended color WITHOUT any spots of black or light grey. But don’t take too long mixing it because this stuff will start to warm up and harden.
This product will also not work very well if you are trying to spread it paper-thin and expect any lateral strength out of it.
As for my review: I have a reverse osmosis filtration system and unfortunately, my house does not have a pressure regulator before the water comes into the house. I tested the pressure and it’s a whopping 160psi. Several months ago I found a very small leak in the first stage filter housing, which is clear plastic. I thoroughly mixed the EP-200 and placed a liberal amount along the entire bottom of the inside of the housing. Because of the pressure involved, I let the epoxy set up for two hours before turning on the water. It’s been two months now and it’s still holding back water.
I chose the EP-200 because it is NSF certified and it can handle the pressure.
In general, no handy man should be without this stuff because there is almost no limit to its use.

I had a leak at one of my PVC connectors on the pressure side of a 1.5 HP in ground pool filter pump. I went to Home Depot to purchase the replacement pieces and PVC cement and primer however I saw the EP-200 on the shelf and decided to give that a try just to save some time. That was two weeks ago and not one drop of water has leaked from the fitting. The down side is I went back to Home Depot today to purchase some more and they had none there. I sure hope they get some more in or I can order it online I suppose although they must still be using pony express as the last thing I ordered took ten days to get it.
