Can this product be used to seal contraction joints on a concrete patio? Our back patio is slightly uneven, sloping away from the foundation. thanks,
Asked by: Mike
I have used this to seal mortar between bricks on the side of the house and it has worked well, so I would think it would work for your job. If the slab is moving it may over time cause cracks in the caulking but you can always reapply this product.

I purchased it to repair cracks in concrete blocks in my basement! It's so grainy that it falls off my finger the second it comes out of the tube, and as for sticking to a crack in a block...FORGET IT!!! I previously used another brand that was so smooth that it just glided on and stayed exactly where I put it! Unfortunately, that brand isn't available in a tube anymore, so out of desperation I tried this! I have never been more disappointed in a product! It's completely worthless to me!

I had to wait until the weather was warm enough and dry enough, but I finally applied it to some cracks around the top of my chimney. It was easy to apply and smooth out, and so far I see no signs of shrinkage or loosening. It seems like a wonderful product for filling cracks in concrete or masonry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to work with. PROS: Easy to work with. Is thinner/more liquid than I expected, but this allows the product to penetrate and adhere very well once cured. Although gray in color, it is a lighter gray than the color-indicating cap shows. It does have some material mixed in to resemble mortar texture when finished -- and added bonus. CONS: Claims 50 linear feet -- but this is for a 3/16" bead (ie, less than 1/4") -- so you'll likely need more than you think. OVERALL: I've used this product for multiple applications around my house. Have never experienced any issues with it. Clean up is easy; appearance of the final product is better than expected -- just a lighter shade of gray than the surrounding surfaces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product at a good price! I purchased this product to fill in a very large crack on our front porch. The product applied easily, and dried super-fast. It's kept the rain water and bugs out! Now, I'll sand it all down and repaint soon.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A total hassle to apply The caulking does have some sand (or something) in it that should make it stronger and bond better. However this caulking is a hassle to apply. In general I have found this brand to have easy to use caulking but this formula I will not use in the future. Once I pulled the metal rod back away from the tube the caulking wouldn't stop flowing. This was a problem when I was trying to smooth out what was just applied as the caulking kept flowing out of the tube and dropping to the ground. I do not like caulking that does this and other Red Devil formula's I have tried will stop very quickly. The caulking itself may hold up but due to the hassle factor I'll be skipping this specific mix.
