Red Head Hammer-set anchors should be capable of holding 2x4s to wall and floor concrete applications (do not use Hammer-sets for overhead applications). The minimum embedment for 1/4” diameter Hammer-sets is 5/8”, since the actual dimensions for 2x4s is 1.5”x3.5” you should go with a Hammer set that is 3 inches long to ensure you meet minimum embedment. Pre drill the concrete using a 1/4” ANSI concrete Read More

Pre drill the concrete using a 1/4” ANSI concrete drill bit, clean out the hole using a wire brush and air.
The safe working load for single installation under static loading conditions for a 1/4” diameter hammer-set at 3/4” embedment is 220 pounds for tension and 242 pounds for shear.
