Can these be used outdoors since they are zinc coated. Specs say indoor use.

Asked by: Mary
Hi Mary, We do not recommend these anchors for outdoor use as they are not corrosion resistant for outdoor applications. If you have any further questions regarding what anchor would work best for your project, please contact customer service at 877-489-2726. Thanks!

These are suggested for overhead applications. Can they be used for installing toilet flange to concrete sub floor?

Asked by: Jb
Yes, you can use these anchor in sub floor applications. With a drop-in anchor you will have to use a threaded rod and a nut that will protrude. Please use a 3/8" concrete drill bit and the right setting tool. Another option is using Tapcon concrete screw anchors. You don't need a setting tool to install Tapcons and they are removable. Please contact technical service at 800-899-7890 if you have additional questions.

3/8 in. x 1-5/8 in. Steel Drop-In Anchors (50-Pack) is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for concrete garage ceiling Perfect for hanging heavy items from our concrete garage ceiling - we hang each of our bikes from 2 of these, though one would be plenty strong if we could hang 'em vertically. We use the 3/8" size thread that accepts any standard threaded bolt, eye-bolt, etc. Just drill a 1/2" hole then hammer in the anchor/ sleeve. Getting ready to use 2 more to properly secure our garage door opener to our low ceiling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You must buy the setting tool and bolts separately. Work great. Very easy to use. 1. Mark placement 2. Drill 1/2 inch hole to depth (don't get bolts too long or drill hole too deep) 3. Blow / vacuum debris out of hole 4. Drop anchor into hole 5. Set with setting tool (hammer sold separately) 6. Bolt whatever to you need to anchor Easy Peasy. There are placement and weight limits, you don't want to brake you floor / wall / ceiling. I've used these for my motorcycle wheel stand and other such things. Hold is rock solid. Does not move. Very permanent. Lasts for years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from too small for 1/2 hole made with pretty much any stone drill bit (such as SDS plus) Had to use jb weld or similar epoxy to secure the anchor in the hole as the anchor just fell easily into the 1/2 hole made by 1/2 Bosh sds plus stone drill bit... Somehow these holes (and also the drill bits tend to run a bit larger than real 1/2 inch) ..not sure why.. but measured several drill bits being 0.522 inch instead of 0.500.... then of course your hole is bigger as well. Manufacturer of the anchors should be aware of this and test the anchors...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WHERE"S THE TOOL? (like where's the beef) This is a very nice alternate part to use besides the stud anchors, especially when it is time to remove the part. Just remove the bolt and fill in the hole. Unlike the studs which you have to grind and hammer and hope the surface is smooth. Biggest problem is you need a tool unlike the studs (standard hammer) to help set them in and the store seams to be out of them AGAIN. The have the 1/2" but not the popular use 3/8" . Once the stocking issue is fix, i can make this a 5 star review
