Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Product performs very well Purchased this product so my husband could hang sheet rock on the ceilings by himself. Other reviews said it was difficult to use. The cable that winds up to raise & lower the arms needs to be guided so it does not jump off the track, you just can't lower it without some guidance. Product has been very helpful and works well. My husband is very pleased with it. Sturdy and raises the board to the necessary height to secure to ceiling. Only drawback, you can not use it with a partial sheet, doesn't balance well with a partial sheet. Full sheets are no problem, raises level to ceiling. I would purchase again. April 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I needed Being disabled and in the process of remodeling a 3000sf home this product has been a great help. Prior to purchasing I had to wait until my son and a friend could stop by to install any ceiling pieces. Even doing just the walls was difficult for me and caused a lot of extra pain. This product allows me to work on my own schedule and will pay for itself in the savings I get not having to buy beer and pizza for my helpers. April 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty darn good for price you pay To address the abrupt dropping: ensure while cranking/elevating, that the cable is winding evenly, laying side by side on the spool so when (with our experience) elevated to 8 foot, the cable only winds one layer on the spool. Doing this, a second layer of winded cable is not started, (to which this what causes the drop when the upper layer of winded cable slips between the lower cable) [In short, keep spooled cable tight-no gaps between the spooled cable and it will not slip-99% of the time this worked] The casters seem cheap but so far after lifting 20 pieces of 4 x 8 drywall, still functioning well Does seem rattlely, but even ones rented in the past was also rattley. One of the arm pieces that extends out to evenly hold the panel, was bent but was able to bend back in place. It sure did save time, no back and head aches, no fighting with my wife I give it a 5 due to the 'price to function factor' but do not plan on using this for professional purposes, does not seem that highly durable for commercial use. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works as described The lift does what it is supposed to. As others have mentioned it drops an inch once on every lift. NO idea why, and its annoying, but otherwise no issue. The bigger issue is shipping. It isn't packed all that well. UPS managed to destroy the box and as a result the item had numerous scratches and gouges in the paint. I dont really care much what it looks like so I didn't bother to return, but it should be packed better April 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Necessary for bigger jobs! Have only used it on one big job so far, but paid itself off already! Seems like it will hold up to the abuse of the work (long-term), but time will tell. Like I said, paid itself off on the first go round! I would recommend this to anyone trying to avoid the aches and pains of hanging ceilings. Especially 5/8" March 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A very useful tool when you are installing drywall by yourself. Easy to assemble, easy to use. The lifting cable was damaged but has not failed yet. The casters were very cheep, and one broke in the first week and a half. I replaced all three and improved the ability to move the lift with sheets of drywall loaded. March 24, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unhappy customer. I was a little disappointed because of the shape the lift was in when it showed up. Dents and scrapes all over it. If it wasn't for the fact that I needed it as soon as possible I would have sent it back. February 3, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Makes drywalling ceilings easier Product arrived on time and in good condition. Installation instructions were not easy but not difficult either. It makes drywalling easier but is still a hassle with one person. this definitely solves having to hold the sheet while someone screws but is tricky to get the sheet in place by yourself if your room is out of square which all of mine seem to be. Good product and worth the money. October 26, 2013
